EASY PEASY

I have used TurboTax for years, and even when I had complicated business expenses and equipment depreciation to enter, TurboTax made it easy. Other folks sweat tax day, but I don't worry because I can get through my taxes in a short time. I've tried other software, but none are as intuitively (play on words intentional) simple to use.
What's great about it: EASE OF USE, STEP BY STEP WALKTHROUGH

I really liked this years format!

This is a FANTASTIC product. For me, I have to be careful not to skim over the questions. When I went back to double check entries, I had entered a deduction on the wrong line, and it made a $550 difference on the amount we owed.
What's great about it: VERY easy to follow. I had everything sorted, added and ready to go. It was a SNAP to enter everything!
What's not so great: Trying to translate an IRS ruling that Turbo Tax sent me to.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

State Efile Failed

I had no problem with Turbotax until I chose to efile my state return. I paid for it, now I can't efile because the program keeps telling me to apply an update before I can transmit the return. Epic Fail!!!

Easy to follow

Overall, I would recommend this product to others, my only real issue that I hope is corrected in future versions is that some of the font is light in contrast to its background (i.e. white print on a light blue button or light grey print on white background)
What's great about it: overall, easy to navigate and understand instructions
What's not so great: some print and button links had little contrast and difficult to read for visually impaired persons.

Tax prep made easy

After searching throught the various tax prep software out there, I selected Turbo Tax Deluxe with Federal and State returns. The process was straight forward and the most tedious part was entering the various forms information.
The part that I wish Turbo Tax would try to get away from is the charging extra for e-filing the state return.
I suppose the lack of state e-file on the cover of the software should have been an clue, but why include the state tax form and then hold the payer over the barrel so to speak for e-filing a state return?

What's great about it: Very straight forward questions which enable one to fill out taxes easily.
What's not so great: Hidden Cost to efile State return.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Thank you for improving year after year

I have been using TurboTax since whatever it was called in the days of DOS. It has improved every year. There was a year when it was only online, I think. It might have been me that was not seeing straight dealing with family cancer. Anyway, this years deluxe is superb. Great package. I still recommend it to one and all.
What's great about it: Able to move quickly without a lot of typing and research
What's not so great: Sometimes not easy to find last years info and state error refers to fed but no value given.
