Turbo tax was totally awesome for the fifth year in a row. This year, for the first time, we had some college educational stuff and turbo tax walked us through everything and with the educational credit our refund went from $1,208 to $3,881!
We now have some more money for another year of college! Thank you!
What's great about it: 1 hr and 30 minutes
What's not so great: State info could have been more comprehensive

Taxes from start to finish in under 5 hours

As always, Turbo Tax makes the chore of filing our Federal and State Income taxes simple and easy. If you don't do the entire process in one sitting, it can be frustrating to pick up where you left off although it is simple to find what you want in the 'table of contents' listing. I like that quite a bit.
What's great about it: Ease of entering information
What's not so great: Difficult to drill down to specifics (extreme details)

This is my 10th year to file our family taxes with TurboTax. I love the ease and simplicity for me in completing this task. Love that it autofills from the previous year and allows me to edit and add as needed. Thank you, Turbo Tax, for helping me year after year!!
What's great about it: The simplicity, checking for errors, autofills
What's not so great: legal jargon
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

The present method of entering capital gains data is complicated, confusing, and really poor. I only had 4 entries to make yet it took me most of the evening to complete
What's great about it: Electronic Filing
What's not so great: Schedule D

Looks great. I suggest a simplified version based on my tax history that avoids sending me into too many ramifications, which at the end were not relevant.
What's great about it: efficient, accurate and easy to use
What's not so great: sometimes got lost with too many questions that did not apply to my case

I have used TurboTax at least since 2007. Each time it has gotten better/easier to use. This year was no exception EXCEPT I had to hire a tech to load the software. After five tries and failing, I got a msg telling me to replace the "bad" software. The new software failed in the same way. I had to get our computer tech to load it for me. He found that your techs did not remember that some of us still have good but older mother boards. This error on your part cost me both time & money. I fully intended to have our taxes filed by late March, yet here it is April 15th...hence you only get a good not excellent rating!!!! And it would be nice to be compensated for our extra time & costs.

I maintain my own depreciation schedules on spreadsheets. They go back to over thirty years. The software makes it difficult to input my own data, forcing me to override calculated values. It always reverts to defaults parameters on the depreciation method, like 150DBL, which I do not use. Make it more user friendly with this, and you might get an A+.
What's great about it: Like error checking
What's not so great: error checking explanations are too brief, creating confusion
