Always easy

I've used TurboTax for many years now. Previously I used QuickTax in Canada. This is a solid product. It is easy to use. The program can walk you through each section or you can go right to what you want, or a combination. It is very straightforward and there are lots of tips and helpful hints along the way. I sign up for the Advantage Program so they send me out the new one every year.
What's great about it: Straightforward, Deluxe is even appropriate for capital gains users if you are knowledgeable
What's not so great: Wish, that like Excel, if you typed in a date in word format, it would automatically switch to their date format

Badly designed for Macs

I ran updates before filing, but Turbotax wouldn't let me e-file because it said I needed to update. So I did this. Same problem. I was worried I'd have to file by mail (after paying the e-filing fee).
Went on line, and discovered that this seemed to be a Mac-specific and common problem. I got smart and closed the program and then re-opened it. Only then did the updates kick in.
What's great about it: Doing the taxes was easy
What's not so great: Trying to file them was not

Glichy software

I have Windows7, all my updates, A monster of a computer Intel corei7 with 8 logical cores, 16 gigs of Matched RAM, Solid state drives....Every time I open TurboTax. Memory usage shoots up and it starts freezing for periods up to 10 seconds. It's REALLY annoying! After I'm done working with TurboTax, I have to reboot to get the system stable again. Maybe my build isn't compatible with the software. It's the only software I've EVER found that makes this thing glitch....
Just 2013 too....
What's great about it: It always recovers from the freezes
What's not so great: It Freezes

It's like a best friend at tax time!

I have been using Turbo Tax for at least the past 6 years. I find it gets easier each year I use it. Over the years I've had some pretty interesting situations that I needed to report and Turbo Tax was able to help me figure out how to file without having to consult a tax expert or call the IRS. It's fast, easy and comes with very easy directions. I do believe that anyone can use this.
I plan on continuing to use it for my Federal and State filing.
What's great about it: Easy, easy easy! I even had a question about something and I talked to someone within 10 minutes of leaving a message!
What's not so great: Can't think of anything!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2013 Tax Return Filing

I have used Turbo Tax for more than ten years and I feel very satisfied with it. This year I believe that it has been more user friendly than ever. Keep it up.
What's great about it: Very user friendly
What's not so great: Some confusing information
