update problems

Had to update 4 times and reboot the system before turbo tax would file. I'm praying I only paid taxes due only once instead of the 4 times I had to keep attempting to file.
What's great about it: decent walk through
What's not so great: updates not installing properly
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good Flow, excellent questions.

First time using and was able to get through without any issues. Some items were confusing, but I was able to get through them. I contribute it to me being a newby.

What's great about it: good flow. easy to do returns (even complicated ones.) Liked the explain options.

Always impressed by TurboTax

It's always a chore doing taxes as the tax code in infinitely complicated but I've always been impressed by how thorough TurboTax can be just by a piece of SW asking you questions. My son used it this year for the first time and breezed right through it.
What's great about it: i start out thinking thsi is not working but in the end TurboTax always seems to get it right
What's not so great: It seemed harder this year after the initial questions to go back and change info.

Could Be Better

While I appreciate the simple step-by-step aspects, the program is still entirely confusing for someone filing their taxes for the first time. Furthermore, it would not let me e-file, claiming that I required an update that I had already installed 3 times. The concept is lovely, but it definitely could be improved.
What's great about it: Easy-to-answer questions, not overwhelming
What's not so great: So many errors, confusing for first-timers

Need better system to go back to last place of work after correcting something. Currently it makes you go through some of same following questions not relevant to correction done before that.
Develop relationship with health providers (esp. hospitals) to be able to download medical payments like with financial institutions.
Need better way to keep track of deductions as you go without alot of input.

TurboTax has never failed me. In fact it has saved me more than once by finding errors and correcting them!
What's great about it: Consistently accurate and easy to use.
What's not so great: love to have a free State efile.

It's time to do something else

I have 20 years of TurboTax disks and may have used it longer. It has gotten to the point where itemizing is too complicated due to the tax code or what ever, but TurboTax causes me more problem then help.
What's great about it: Picks up info from previous year's TUrbo Tax
What's not so great: If you expect to input a value there is NO way to tell if you havn't come to it yet or have passed that input. Wait too
