Easy Peasy!

Turbo tax makes it easy for amateurs, like myself, to file taxes. They provide a step by step process that is so easy to follow. Best of all, it's cheap and convenient. I am very grateful for turbotax!

Error check drove me crazy!

The error check found an error with information related to the First Time Homebuyer Credit. The question asked if I purchased a home between 2008-2011. I answered "yes" and entered the purchase date as 7/1/2011. The error check later told me that the purchase date for the credit needed to be no later than 6/30/2011. I tried several times to go back and change the deductions to indicate that I did not receive the home buyer credit but I just kept getting the error check prompting me to change my home purchase date. I finally changed the date to 6/30/2011 so I could get past the error check. It was SOOOO frustrating!
What's not so great: Error check - when I corrected it, it would not save the change

Somewhat confusing

Was hard to revise data and remove errors. Had to go to forms to remove data once entered into user interface. Hard to find help information for some of the fields.
What's great about it: Friendly user interface
What's not so great: Hard to change data

Been using Turbo Tax since I can remember. It definitely has gotten better and more easier to navigate. Thank you for saving my life every April of every year.

No Sweat!

I was able to smoothly do my taxes with all the info I had at hand.. I think it helps to know what info is going to be asked and have it ready. A tip sheet before hand might be very helpful i.e W2s, categories of tax credits or deductibles.
What's great about it: Easy to fill out, better than ever, less errors
What's not so great: Some info asked seems redundant or stupid

i plan to use TurboTax in the future and will also urge others to do the same. We used it for the first time last year and were so pleased with the results. Thank you so much for creating this software for those of us who want to be in control of our taxes.

First time in years-disapointed

first time college aged kid with scholarships, 529, my employee assistance program- what a nightmare. Turbotax did a TERRIBLE time with it. VERY difficult to follow. NO help. Very tedious. I think this experience has pushed me to use an accountant. Much more clarification is needed especially since colleges do NOT give out 1099-T forms, NOR will they accept 529 monies sent directly to them. what a pain. I cant believe how turbotax dropped the ball on this one.
What's great about it: the usual bang up job with my filing-overal pleased
What's not so great: HATED the educational expenses part
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
