As usual trust turbo tax

Have used Turbo tax for more than 10 years. Rely on the product. My taxes now are simple. However I just learned that as a teacher who uses a home to continue work beyond school building hours, I can deduct home expenses. T-Tax led me to appropriate questionnaire, but while I stalled to gather additional paperwork and #s, I lost my connection to the deduction sheet being prepared. I never did find it again, and submitted my taxes in HOPES that it was complete and included all possible deductions. I'm leery.
What's great about it: quick
What's not so great: could never get back to home deductions for employment expenses

My PIN is 6 digits. TurboTax does not allow more than 5. Please correct.

What's not so great: My PIN is 6 digits and TurboTax does not allow more than 5 digits.

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years, but only two (current and last year’s returns) are available to do comparisons.
Help to change the name of a charitable organization was totally useless.
Love the carryovers from fed to state
Love the "it's deductible" feature.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to use the first time through.
What's not so great: Making changes is not INTUITive

Peace of Mind
on April 15, 2014

The whole experience feels very solid and reassuring. It is like dealing with the condensed wisdom of many tax experts, available at your convenience on your computer.
One gripe is the fee for having your filing paid for out of your refund. I didn't take that option, but it seems too expensive for what it is.
Other than that I love TurboTax and have used it for many years.
What's great about it: Everything works. Everything is explained
What's not so great: Additional fee for filing with state

loved using turbo tax

I have done my own taxes since I was 15/16 years old, and of course it gets harder as you go to college, have kids, and own property. I do not like giving control over to someone else to handle my taxes for me, as I know how easy it is to make mistakes when crunching numbers. Plus, I'd rather do them myself than pay someone else to handle my finances. So, Turbo tax allows me to do my taxes, ask questions when needed, and gives me a check and balance without paying someone else to do them. Thanks for a peace of mind!
What's great about it: easy to use, detailed explanations, and good at making sure all areas for refunds are considered
What's not so great: A bit confusing on completing the injured spouse forms, and whether or not you could claim a few things like child care

Disappointed in EFile
on April 15, 2014

Everything was fine until I attempted to e file. I received an error that said "601 ERRV" and Spec Request" "Did not receive any non-zero dollar Fed/St OPRs." What does that mean. No clue. No guidance or any suggestion as to what it might mean or where to go for help. After spending an hour searching through the community help section, I did find an answer that some customers had had a software glitch. I had to go to the File section again, and choose to have my refund mailed to me instead of direct deposit. What a hassle!!! Now I have to wait for snail mail refund and depositReno, NV a check. All this through no error of my own, but a software error of TurboTax. No clue why this happened. I want a refund---from TurboTax. This has soured me on TurboTax, which I have used for a number of years. Will have to reconsider next year.
What's great about it: Guides you through the process
What's not so great: Efile had a software error that caused untold hassle and distress
