I have felt confident about my returns every time I use Turbo Tax
What's great about it: asked through questions
What's not so great: takes awhile
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

One More Year

I have been using Turbo Tax since it began with Chip Soft, challenging it by acquiring multiple rental properties and the purchase and selling of stocks and then throwing a curve ball with a more complicated partnership. One year I had more rentals than it had designed slots though it caught up the following year. The only snag was the year the program was locked into one computer and it failed before I could print the mail in copy. But we both have grown beyond that and E-File is a snap. Now with all the built in guidance and access to all the IRS documents along with help files most people should be able to complete their taxes. The hard work is being organized and keeping records during the year. The easy part is moving the data into Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Controls and site format consistent year to year.

Been using TurboTax for years and it has helped out. This past year was a struggle (loss my job), and I had to pull from my retirement to avoid unemployment. I now know that was a big mistake with the amount I have to pay. Could have paid less or none at all if I used unemployment or "the people's" money. I chose the hard way and had to pay... but less thanks to TurboTax.
What's great about it: Checks for $$$ oportunities
What's not so great: none

it took FOREVER!!!

when i first loaded the program, it said there was an update; when i updated it, it was 2010!!! i had to delete it & reload the program. worked through everything then it said i couldn't send it via e-file because there was yet another update; it wouldn't process it for 1 1/2 hours!!! how many updates are there!?!? this took way longer than it should have...
What's great about it: simple
What's not so great: forms not available & too many updates

I have used another tax program because it was good and less expensive. However, I have found that I am faster if I use the same tax software from year to year. Also, it is easier to look back with consistency if I use the same program year to year.
What's great about it: 1. Ability to import w-2 2. Ability to auto-populate recurrent fields
What's not so great: Inability to complete and file RITA forms

Worth Every Penny

I had a large number of medical bills and prescription bills in 2013 and needed to file a 1040 tax form with itemized deductions. I decided to try TurboTax rather than going to a tax preparer. I'm very happy to have made that decision. It was so easy to walk step by step through the program to find all the deductions that pertained to me. I'm getting a great refund and am confident that TurboTax allowed me to maximize my deductions.
What's great about it: The software walked me through a 1040 return and made it so easy.
What's not so great: I can't think of anything that I didn'tlike.
