TurboTax 2013 Experience

I've been a user of TurboTax for a long time. So long that I can't remember if it came in 5 1/4 or 3 1/2 inch disks. This year's version successfully transferred my 2012 data (some of it unusual) with no difficulties at all. The forms were clear and as intuitive as government forms could hope to be. Good work!
What's great about it: Ease of use (easiest version yet)

Disappointed this year. . . .

Turbo Tax continues to be a terrific tax prep software - I believe we are on year 10 - however, this year we had sooo many glitches using TT Deluxe on the MacBook Pro. Everything from no form builder to unrecognizable return file -
Stressful to say the least. Hoping next year we are back on track.

What's great about it: still great, easy to use, entry of tax return data
What's not so great: Tech issues with Mac use of TTDeluxe - ended up reinstalling on a windows machine. . . ON APRIL 15TH!! Talk about stress
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

nothing fun about doing your taxes, but at least turbo tax makes it pretty straight forward

Easy to Use, Filed Return In An Hour

This was my first time filing taxes. I was amazed at how TurboTax walked me through the byzantine maze of forms, deductions and credits easily. Filed my taxes within an hour. Amazing user interface design that I wish other software developers would emulate.
However, there is a glitch where TurboTax couldn't validate my tax forms because it "needed an update" despite having just gotten one. Restarting the software did the trick. Also, I did have to fill out my address more than once, which is pretty minor but something that can be improved on.
What's great about it: Easy to use, quick, great user interface
What's not so great: Some repeated filling of same info and update glitch
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

After a highly recommended tax preparer had to re-do taxes three times for "stupid" mistakes, I switched to TurboTax. I have been able to do my own with a minimum of frustration since then. As a retired individual, this is an important feature. The cost is minimal and the results exceptional
What's great about it: Loved the "walking through" each step
What's not so great: I have used this repeatedly - so must not be many cons
