Super Easy

I have been using Turbo Tax software since 2000 and it takes care of all previous year information, it saves lot of time to fill in those information.
If your personal information don't change, it makes filing returns very easy and gives back your time.
What's great about it: it is like driving a car on auto pilot.
What's not so great: Becoming pricer every year

I like Turbo Tax. I would like to see an option of having the Form for viewing before a section is completed. It would even be better if the prior year form could be viewed side by side to verify completeness and accuracy. I would also not have to repeatedly answer the same questions each time a section is revisited.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: When a section is revisited, the same questions need to be reanswered
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

PFL Section Could Use Improvement

The Paid Family Leave (PFL) Section needs a major improvement. The inaccuracy of it lies in the scenario where an individual is given PFL benefits by his/her employee, but did not receive a 1099-G form from the government. The issue is that even though a 1099-G for PFL was not sent, the employer might report this information in the W-2 form itself. In my case, my employer paid out 3 days of my PFL and plus another 3 days for bereavement. These two amounts were listed separately on the "Employee's Copy" of the W-2 (but NOT on the Federal Filing Copy nor the State Filing Copy of the W-2). I was not, however, sent a 1099-G for these amounts. Furthermore, these amounts were taxed after reviewing my pay stubs of both occasions. I'm under the assumption that I'm still supposed to report them. I reported them by doing my own calculations of the federal and state income taxes taken for each event. TurboTax made no clarification of such a scenario, and left the user to second guess himself/herself, do his/her own research, or consult a tax expert. The major flaw is that if you do your own calculations, TurboTax takes in consideration of the "already taxed" situation for federal, but not for state. Needless to say I'm doubtful that I got my full refund for the state, and possibly for the federal return as well. I will have to amend this return when I'm able to seek expert advice.

I GUESS THAT IF YOU BUY THE "EXTRAS" AT THE END OF PREPARING YOUR TAXES THE SOFTWARE WILL ACTUALLY PRINT YOUR FORMS! ALL I GOT WAS FRUSTRATION IN TRYING TO PRINT MY FORMS TO MAIL IN WITH MY CHECK. I AM THINKING OF GOING TO A CPA NEXT YEAR.
What's great about it: FAIRLY EASY TO FOLLOW
What's not so great: TRY TO GET TURBO TAX TO PRINT WITHOUT PURCHASING "EXTRAS" IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE

Great product!

I tried Turbo Tax a number of years ago after having a series of tax preparers who made mistakes I had to pay penalties for. Since using Turbo Tax, I have not been audited, and feel like I've gotten as much back as possible.
What's great about it: Easy to use, thorough
What's not so great: Extra charges
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Seemed too good to be true

This program is easy to use however there seems to be glitches. Everything was going smoothly till the very end. I thought I filed however it failed to file at least 10 times. Apparently there were updates that needed to be downloaded. Again then again till all 10 plus updates were downloaded. How frustrating. Then I decided to restart the mac and low and behold it finally worked. I hope that if I choose to use Turbo Tax next year that updates will automatically run when I open the program. Good luck to those updating the forms!!! Be persistent!
What's great about it: forms directions were easy to understand, directions were simple
What's not so great: Everything went fine till time to file then disaster struck!
