Easy and Understandable

Turbo tax makes life easy, but what used to be included is now very absurdly priced.
What's great about it: Made the process very simple, all you do is answer questions
What's not so great: State was not included and the price to add it and the e-file fee was riduculous

Good intentions but glitchy

The questions were straightforward, and I had no trouble with the "core" process of filing. My chief complaints, which I hope they will remedy: First, they nearly lost me at Hello. When you sign up and provide your billing name, their software is so lame that the form could not accept my full married name without truncating it. (It does not allow you to have a surname longer than 15 letters, after that, it cuts you off.) So I was forced to use my maiden name, which is shorter but does not correspond to the name I use for billing or taxes. How weak is that for a "welcome?" Second, the program urges you to E-file, but after you have filled all the detailed bank data, it springs on you that you must have some special PIN that I have never heard of. Had to back out painfully and start over with the snail mail option. They should tell you in advance that you need a PIN to select that option. And near the end it took me to some help pages that had no "continue" button, no way to return to the place in the filing where I left off. Wasted 10 minutes in that purgatory! And the box that I am typing in now, when you max out on your allotted characters, it says "minimum reached." Oy.
What's great about it: Questions were easy to answer, straightforward
What's not so great: TurboTax truncated my name, left me hanging near the end of the process

Great product

Great product! saves me tons of time and headaches. Everything is gathered in one place, including external links. Nice clean interface with popups. make taxes a lot less painful and confusing. I believe this is my 14th year wit hyour product.
What's great about it: Improved inteface and help facilities
What's not so great: Cost to efile to state when there is no refund

Worth Every Penny

This is the first year I've ever prepared my taxes myself and TurboTax was a lifesaver! I was really worried about not being able to make sense of all the forms I received, but the software was really clear about which forms I should be using. I really liked using the education related deductions for student loan interest and seeing my return grow. I was really excited to see TurboTax find me some money I may have otherwise overlooked! I've always had my taxes done for me and felt the price of getting them done wasn't even worth the money I got back.... with TurboTax being so affordable --it's worth every penny!

Thank God for Turbo Tax

My taxes are pretty simple and straightforward--or at least that's how Turbo Tax makes them seem. You all take the headache out of tax season and for that I am eternally gratefully.

It seemed Turbo Tax changed in some areas this year. I found it frustrating in some areas. The questions were easy; however, I had to go back to the forms to change specific figures that were true but did not go properly in the specific areas Turbo placed them. I found it hard to override the figures to place them right. Also, I misspelled a few words and found it impossible to correct these with the Turbo program.
