Got it done!

I have investment & capital gains income plus a 1099 from some free-lance work,as well as my full-time employer W-2 so my return is not simple, but is not a difficult return either. I believe that Turbo tax is helpful to taxpayers such as myself.
What's great about it: I appreciate that it shows our tax history and self-populates a lot of fields for you.
What's not so great: The state return shows multiple W-2's, where there should be only one

I really liked how they had the forms on the program match the forms that I received. They had some good examples for some of the questions that they had me fill in. I was still confused on filling out certain other information.
What's great about it: Step by step process that works hand in hand with the forms that you receive.
What's not so great: They used some lingo that I did not quite understand.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I bought the program and downloaded it, but it didn't have everything. I installed the updates, but then couldn't file electronically. Ugh

After using TurboTax for a dozen years,i may give Tax Act a try next year. I always have some issue. This year it was the info from form1099-B as it was applied to the Mississippi State return. I was not e-filing the state return, however TT insisted that I enter the Name, address and EIN four times for the broker with whom I sold some stock. There was no way around it, so I multiple entries with $0.
Also my brokerage was unavailable to download the pertinent info, but that could be a limitation on the brokerage side.
What's great about it: Cheaper than a tax preparer
What's not so great: Issues with Mississippi State return. The answers in the onlinecommunity are vaugue and never provide a concrete answer

I liked most everything up until the state (in deluxe). One of my returns was going to need multiple state returns, and the program didn't let me choose which would be downloaded, and then defaulted to the same (wrong) state for all returns. Impossible to change without making a call - and then lines not available.
What's great about it: Straightforward, helpful directions, use of previous year info
What's not so great: downloaded the wrong state return, didn't give me option to choose and couldn't change
