Why is it that the costs are at the end and not in the beggining as to be able to deduct at the tax prep fees section ?

I've been using Turbo Tax Deluxe for several years now. I highly recomend this if you want to save lots of time and money!
What's great about it: Easy to use step by step instructions.
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good enough for an average tax return

Have used Turbotax for years and it is simple and easy for an average tax return. However over the years I have come across some unique tax situations, forex trades, non-performing loans, etc and turbo tax is completely unsuitable for these types of situations. In those situations about the best it can do is dump you into the tax form and the IRS handbook and leave it up to you to figure it out for yourself. I can consult the IRS handbook for tax preparation and fill in the blank on various tax schedules without paying for a software package which is supposed to do that for me. If you have a straightforward tax return with few or no uniqiue tax challenges then turbo tax is for you. If your tax situations is mildly unique or complex look elsewhere.
What's great about it: Fairly SImple to use IF tax return is straightforward
What's not so great: More difficult if you face unique or challenging tax situations
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Finally Complete

I have been using Turbo Tax for almost ten years. I love the fact that past year's data is automatically entered. This is such a time saver and gives me a boost in feeling like I have completed a section without actually doing anything.
What's great about it: Easy to move through this program and go back anytime that you need to look for documents.
What's not so great: Sometimes the explainations are not detailed enough to know if you qualify for the item.

Tax Time Simplified

Slick! Really smooth way to do your taxes and know that the document has been done professionally.
What's great about it: You have be at this tax thang for sometime now and it shows with a well-organized trip through the forms.
What's not so great: Difficult to remove data from last year that doesn't apply to this year's form.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
