Disappointed

Turbo tax used to have better help. It would link me to IRS publications. Now it keeps taking me to a turbo tax page that did not provide me very good information. I started using turbo tax over 25 years ago because of the help it provided and I no longer needed to purchase a tax preparation book also. Used to receive state with federal. Now the state go up every year.
What's great about it: I can go directly to section I choose.
What's not so great: The help is not as good as it used to be.

Very easy

I keep using TT because of the ease and seamless transfer of last year's data and it seems to be improved each year.
What's great about it: used last year's data, changes were easy to make, could compare last year to this year's
What's not so great: the federal pin system would not work

I love Turbo Tax! Well, I love it as much as one can love tax preparation software. It is easy to use and well worth the money.
What's great about it: options to either be asked questions to get to the right answer, or to go straight to entering info.

I could not find an adequate answer to a question related to recieving a class action settlement on an IRA investment.
For Local taxes I could never really tell whether I properly applied additional taxes paid to municipalities above that witheld in W-2, and the treatment of local taxes in the OHIO return was very sketchy and I couldnt tell what was actually being done or calculated.
What's great about it: generally pretty simple
What's not so great: Unable to find answer to other income questions. Local Municipality taxes for Ohio very poor

Just as has been the case for years - I pull together the numbers and TurboTax does the rest of the work. Just the way I like it.

This is the best (thing)program since sliced bread. What a lifesaver and timesaver. The program is easy to follow and I will use it every year. Thank you for taking the grief out of taxes. I love to see the amount change at the top with added credits. That is a great feature. :o)

I have used Turbo Tax since it came out and I have been very happy with it and it's preformance it has done my whole fammilies taxes with out one single problem with thw IRS or The Franchise tax board

1040 Made Easy

Overall fairly easy to use without needing to rely on instructions; liked having the click here for more info or explanations -- realy appreciate telling us when a form is available for for inport, particularly the Mutual Fund DIV & INT info/forms -- that in itself makes the cost of the Software WELL WORTH it!
What's great about it: Being Able to Import Many Items, particularly DIV & INT
What's not so great: Could show what's going on with the forms more; state submission cost goes up every year
