Turbo Tax is great

Overall, really like using Turbo Tax and will continue to purchase this in the coming years.
What's great about it: Love the ease in which you can pop in and out of the program.
What's not so great: The state return fee is too high. Also, does not clearly walk you through printing the state return to mail it.

First Year Filing Self Employment Taxes

We have used Turbo Tax for many years now. I value the ease at which I can do my own taxes. If I am confused about any step during the process, the program will give a detailed description of what it is asking for.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax walked me through all the steps and gave detailed instructions when needed.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Stumbled my way thru

After I put my IP PIN into the Personal data I expected to see it in the 1040 signature block. However it was not in the Print Preview version and I have no idea if it was electronically transmitted.....I guess I will know if the IRS rejects my e-filing.
What's great about it: K-1s are much improved and most things went well
What's not so great: IP PIN procedure is unclear

Good but can get better

The program is good, does what is supposed to do well with very good tips. My only issue is that it is not clear about the total cost. I would prefer if the final cost is posted from the start, no surprises (fees for filling or another fee for the state, etc). After trying both the online and getting the software in my computer, I found that downloading the software was much better and with better tips. Also, the online package seemed to upgrade and was difficult to get back to previous versions of the original program.
What's great about it: Reputation, clear steps, good tips, fast
What's not so great: Not clear about the cost

Excellent, except for FBAR

Have been using TurboTax/WinTax since 1998. Works great, has all the forms we need, including some unusual ones.
Only one nit which is more a slam against the US Gov't and not Intuit: In the past, with the treasury dept forms for reporting offshore bank accounts, TurboTax has been great at creating the forms for reporting these accounts. With the new FBAR reporting nonsense, TurboTax points you in the right direction but doesn't/can't help you address the new reporting requirements. Not sure whether to blame Intuit or the gov't.
What's great about it: All forms I needed
What's not so great: Not much help with FBAR

Glad its over!

Info was easy to file, had a little trouble with Dividends , was Edward Jones fault, not Turbo Tax.There was more information I had to fill out this year for the business, and it took me twice as long as it usually does. Great program, easy to use.
What's great about it: Had all my info fromlast year so i could check backto 2012
What's not so great: Business part was alittle confusing.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2013 Tax Year Review of TurboTax

Used TurboTax again (10th consecutive year) to enter and e-file our 1040 return. The question/response pathways are logical and thoroughly cover each topic. Based on answers, the program brought up related options that I had not previously considered. It was easy to save and come back later to continue work on the return, as it would start up where you had left off upon return. Overall, it was an efficient tax-filing process this year, with clear signs that the program is running better than each previous year.
What's great about it: Very thorough, easy to use and up-to-date forms
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TurboTax Rocks

I love TurboTax. I have used it for many years and it just seems to get easier to use every year. What use to take many hours and sometimes days now takes at most an hour and it works flawlessly. I could not recommend this product more!!
