SOOOO Easy!

Have used Turbo Tax for years and won't change. It is so easy to use and easy to get research on subjects in question along the way.
Thank you for providing this product.
What's great about it: Excellent explanations of the provisions
What's not so great: Would like free State e-filing... well, had to ask.

TurboTax - As Good as It's Ever Been

I've been using TurboTax since the good old DOS days. Many pretenders try to copy it, but none can beat it. What makes it so formidable it that Intuit also makes Quicken and these two programs fit together like a hand in glove. I'll continue to use TurboTax as long as I live.
What's great about it: Easy to use step-by-step process or use the forms; which ever is more convenient for you
What's not so great: Nothing comes to mind

What's great about it: easy to use

Taxes Made Easy!

After using TurboTax for more than 15 years, this is the Best Year ever. TurboTax continues to improve the system. With the capability to download W2s and year end information from investment firms, I was able to further reduce the time needed to complete taxes in 2014. Thanks TurboTax!
What's great about it: Ease of use, coordination with previous years' filing, downloading of reference data
What's not so great: None to speak of...

Solid program for routine income/deductions

Fine program, does what the box says it will do in a logical, fairly comprehensive manner. Don't expect any new features, just new packaging this year.
Despite claims that it finds all deductions, it surprisingly failed to note that my wife had died in 2013 and I received a death benefit which gets favorable treatment under Virginia law. All pertinent info was entered from the 1099-R, should have been a no brainer to transfer to state tax form. I had to manually check a box in a long list of microtype to get the deduction.
Also, TT continues to refuse to include the simple worksheets for mortgage deduction limitations from IRS Pub 936. Took me about 30 minutes to construct an Excel spreadsheet last year which is reusable and calculates the lmitations per IRS guidelines. Why can't you do that TurboTax? Consider that more and more people are in more and more expensive houses with bigger mortgages - the need is there.

What's not so great: Still a slow loading program, doesn't flag death benefit for treatment in Va tax forms

First time Non Immigrant Filing taxes

This product is very easy to use and helpful in documenting the forms required. But if you have more complex scenarios about your situation and with your spouse being NR, then it complicates things and you have to educate more to be able to handle the tool. Looking forward to learning more on the tax rules and policies which seem to be a lot in US :-) and use this tool next year to gain maximum refunds.
What's great about it: Ability to Import W2s, bank statements; Good navigation path / structure;
What's not so great: Focus is mainly on residents, makes it harder for NR to use solution
