Turbotax Gets Faster Every Year!

Loved the easy access to additional info; easy to understand explanations. Much preferred over reading through pages & pages of tax booklets & forms!

2014 Long Form

1. Not clear on the screen that calls for expenses or contributions (I couldn't figure which) on my primary 401(k) deducted from my payroll (primary employer) and his matching contributions. Confusing to the uninitiated.
2. Somehow I wrote my employer's EIN incorrectly (last character in the 4th position. Once I corrected it, the screen choices seemed to run me in the same circle. On the screen "About E-filing and Mailing Rejected Returns", after step 1, there should be an instruction "Go to ______ to fix your error." or words to that effect. I was reluctant to back to the original tab to fix the EIN but assumed that was what was needed.
BIO INFO: We have adult off-spring. No place for that.

My First Experience with TurboTax

Turbo tax won me over this year. I enjoyed the detailed comments along with way. Taxes make me nervous and Turbo Tax kept me calm throughout the process.
What's great about it: Loved the play by play as to what was going on and what to expect next. Great for idiots like me!
What's not so great: Really can think of any. I wish I had switched over to Turbo Tax years ago.

I recommend Turbo Tax to all taxpayers
What's great about it: Easy to follow. Guides you step by step. Ease of going back to correct or delete information. Very easy to use

I Love TurboTax!!

This is the second year I have done my taxes using Turbo Tax. I have saved a great deal of money, learned much more about itemizing, and have gained knowledge of the many tax deductions that are available to me each year.
What's great about it: Very user friendly, even for the less computor savvy.
What's not so great: few to none

Started on iPad; had to do it again on my computer

I was so excited to see that TurboTax was available on iPad this year. I did my entire return only to discover that my subscription to TurboTax that I have had on intuit.com (which I have had for years) does not transfer to the iPad and that the cost to use TurboTax on the ipad was much higher than my yearly subscription rate for Federal +1 state . There should have been a warning message at the beginning of the iPad program that you should not use it if you had already subscribed to TurboTax. The only time I get out my laptop all year is for TurboTax, otherwise I do everything on the iPad. But I will continue to use it on my computer until the iPad rates are in line with the regular software rates.
I was also very concerned to see that the iPad version caused me to miss a deduction. The software version specifically asked me about refinancing my mortgage because I had multiple lenders, whereas the iPad did not and I would have missed the ability to deduct a portion of my loan origination fee (for this year and 24 years to come) had I not been forced to re-enter my entire return on my computer to use Turbo Tax using my online autorenewal subscription. .
What's great about it: Navigation through sections and to actual forms (via software)
What's not so great: ipad edition not work with auto-subscription via intuit.com
