easy as pie

As usual, this was just what I wanted. I have been doing the turbo tax return for a decade.... e-filing is wonderful -- the "check" comes faster than the mail. Also less painful in the years when I have to pay.
What's great about it: rolls over information from previous year
What's not so great: seemed too easy?

I use it because I have not found anything worth changing to.
Too many ads to sell more services. If I wanted to get scalped, I would go to the "tax experts" that set up their office in January and close on the following 4/15.
Program fails to offer real advice that is helpful or for consideration. If I say I don't want to file State taxes, I mean it. Stop asking.
How about something that does not look like the programmers last worked for Hello Kitty?
And stop the ads! And don't call me at work when I ask you not to. Repeatedly.

What's great about it: Easy to use after many years of use
What's not so great: Does not bookmark your place while you go look something up.

Impressive

I have a complicated form involving an S-Corp and two states, stocks, dividends, etc. I was worried some parts of it were maybe not correct and so I manually researched some of the most complex parts of the K1 S-Corp deductions between two states that have different Section 179 deductions.
When I was all done in my review, TurboTax was spot on.
What's great about it: Complete form generation
What's not so great: None I know of

The best software that I had ever use. It will take you by the hand and walk you though every line. If you want to do your tax and don't want all the headache, get Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: The walk though.
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have used Turbo Tax for over 5 years now.. This year was a little different in that we had sale of a partial piece of property to the state for a highway project. Was hard to find schedule I needed..and it was not real clear to me how to report this sale.
I also received a surprise at the end when I was charged for the state portion to get my refund. I paid for the deluxe package which supposedly included the state return. Well it did not.
Will think twice again next year about turbo tax purchase.
What's great about it: easy to use and understand
What's not so great: hard to find detailed answers to some questions

Got it done

I have used TurboTax for several years. It walks me through most things pretty good. The biggest frustration I have is that my husband and I live in one state and work in another. So we have to file taxes in 2 states. I think there should at least be a discount for additional states. This year my daughter also worked in 2 other states besides the state my husband and I work in. I paid a lot of money to file taxes in 4 states. That does not even count what I paid to efile for my husband and I.
What's great about it: Imported all my previous data,
What's not so great: cost
