software updates

great product that I will highly recommend. My only complaint is that it checks for software updates at the end, just prior to submitting. In my case I was logged on with a user account that did not have administrator rights so the process could not complete until I resolved that issue. They should really be checking for software updates at the beginning before you get to far along like that...annoying but not a deal breaker by any means

What's not so great: software updates caused issues at the end

Easy to Use

Turbo Tax is an excellent product when it comes to ease of use and understandability. The help features are actually very helpful instead of giving redundant useless information. Entering data is easy as is moving from field to field. It is also easy to mark a page to return to the page to edit data at a later moment.
The only down side is the amount of time it takes to complete your tax return if it is a complicated return. That may be a function of tax law and the return more than the software. However, don't expect to complete the return in 30 minutes if you have very much data to enter. However, the process is lengthy not painful.
Thank you Intuit for a useful tool that actual allows productivity and the completing of what could be a terribly difficult and frustrating task.
What's great about it: Easy to use and I received a large refund.
What's not so great: You need to set aside adequate time to complete the forms.

What's happening to Turbo Tax???

Still a great product, but my trust in TT dropped a bit this year. :( Access to help was not as comprehensive or readily accessible as in past. Tax law interpretation seemed less complete than in past years. I found myself reading through IRS and State Tax Instruction documents for clarification I couldn't find in Turbo Tax - used to be the other way around. Hope next year is more like 2011 and earlier!!
What's great about it: Easy to use, Good interpretation and assistance relative to tax laws
What's not so great: 'Guide Me' didn't work as well this year - seemed to have skipped one or two critical topics on first and second pass
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

It's Over....Again

Turbo tax is still the most reliable and effective way to do your taxes but........ There needs to be a means to choose to go short form with standard deduction at the start. After doing all of the laborious tasks involved in collecting and calculating the deductions, I ended up taking the standard deduction option as there was only a few dollars difference.
What's great about it: Got er done. Turbo Tax is the only way to go.
What's not so great: Should have a "Standard Deduction" option at the start.

I've been using Turbo Tax for 10 years. It gets better every year and takes the chore out of doing tax preparation.
The process is easy to follow, has plenty of hints/help along the way and is very user friendly.
Wrapping up the tax work couldn't be more efficient...filing with e-file is the icing on the cake.

Fast and Easy, 2 Returns in less than 6 hours.

I've been using Turbo Tax for over 10+ years and have watched it get better and better each year. They need to tweek a few items, such as adding mileage used for charity work, the two options make it difficult to enter an accumulation of mileage, and expenses when I have the detailed data summerized.
What's great about it: Like the throughness of the questions.
What's not so great: Contributions mileage/expenses needs summary entries, I have the details, just want to enter the numbers.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Tax preparation with Turbo Tax has changed our lives. We no longer have to wait forever in tax prep offices with our children. I can prepare in the privacy of my home with the confidence of having it prepared by an expert.
