You made a Newby into a Veteran!

Turboians,
I cannot describe the anxiety I felt prior to starting my taxes this year. I was determined to TRY and do them myself, after the military free service had cost me approximately $1700 due to an error on my 2011 return.

You made this a WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! I am now a die hard Turbo Taxer! My military career will close in approximately 18 months, after 24 years of commanding Marines, and I will be starting my own company. I am going to utilize the "Business" version, at least till I grow so big that I require my own personal team of CPAs.
Not sure if it's possible, but it would be helpful if somehow you could include one of those LARGE "Tax Return" envelopes to put our completed / printed returns into so they would file easier. Actually, I'm just wanting it to look like all the others in my filing cabinet.
Thank you gain for your work in making this stressful venture a very user friendly experience. In doing some mental math, I estimated my return would be around $2500 this year. This is down from my normal returns of $8K+ due to this year being an "off" year. But because of your "hints & recommendations", my return turned out to be nearly double...$4865! This means that next year, with your help, I expect to get back over $10,000. But I promise you one thing, no matter what my tax situation is....I will definately see you next year!!!

What's great about it: The way Turbo Tax offered additional deduction options as I went along, rather than wait till the end and overwhelm me.
What's not so great: It allowed me to WASTE my Free State option on a state that did not require me to file a return.

I find this program to be an absolute God Send.
It opens up everyone's mind to what our countries' tax code means to the individual and just how important it is.
What's great about it: Unbelievable ease.
What's not so great: Nothing

Wrongs and Rights

I have come to rely on Turbo Tax to do my taxes each year. I can't do them without Turbo Tax. I refuse to turn my accounts over to someone else, even touted to be a professional, when with Turbo Tax I can do them as quickly, securely and be confident that they are right with the information I provide. Turbo Tax is a software tool for us average folks who even though might initially believe that our t axes are way too complicated to do on our own, find out with this your software tool leading us through the maze of gobbley gook that its not that hard. Thanks for developing this and making it available. I will continue to use Turbo Tax as long as I am alive which of course means I will still be filing taxes. PS; Your acceptance rules for a review need a review themselves. . Tim Thames
What's great about it: Doing all of the transfers to various forms w/O input from me.
What's not so great: Not very clear on what needs to be changed or entered when error comes up during checking.

I find that this year's edition was a bit easier to fill out.
What's great about it: Very easy interface, Thorough questions, Quick review and submission

This was my first year at having to deal with retirement income and it was very helpful. Gave tips on what to do to reduce my taxes and to plan for next year. Definitely going with Turbo Tax again.
What's great about it: Ease of use for a person with limited computer knowledge.
What's not so great: Can't think of any at this time.

Hoping that we can get our refund since we were unable to actually submit an e-file, but paid for it already.
What's great about it: Very straight forward
What's not so great: Couldn't e-file with Canadian job base.

Glad its over

TurboTax is very user friendly and allows the user to start and stop whenever they wish. Explanations were a bit long but provided the info. I will always use TurboTax for my tax preparation.
What's great about it: Trubotax was very user friendly. Very glad I was abe to navigate on my own.
What's not so great: A little more info should be provided regarding 179 depreciation and recapture after vehicle is removed from service.

Excellent program that I've used for over 25 years!
What's great about it: Forms are done instantly
What's not so great: Research on questionable items forced me out of TurboTax into Internet (Google); it should be done within the program.
