Used it for Years!

I've done my own taxes since 1983 - and TurboTax continues to make that possible. It is absolutely perfect -and anyone who doesn't use it is just paying wasted money to an account who isn't necessary. Even if your taxes are complicated, Turbo Tax has the tools. A big thumbs up year after year!!!!
What's great about it: I wouldn't use anything else.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Complex made simple

I've been using TurboTax for many, many years, and I'm generally a big fan of the program. My tax situation is relatively complex, with multiple broker accounts, retirement accounts, earned income, social security, medical expenses, and even oil depletion. With TurboTax, I'm able to handle all this myself.
A couple of years ago I was frustrated with too much chatty dialog that slowed down the process and added unnecessary work. This year (2013) the chat was at a pretty good level. But still could be improved - I don't know why I should click to start an analysis, and then click again to see the result. Should be one click to analyze and display, but this isn't a big deal, just a suggestion for making a great program even better.
What's great about it: Download from banks, brokers, etc. much improved
What's not so great: Asks for upgrades way too often
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2013 Taxes

I am mostly happy with Turbo Tax. My main misunderstanding with any accounting process is with Mortgages. This is hardly Turbo Tax's issue. It is within the tax code. Many parts of mortgages for filing purposes are confusing due to the multiple terms and descriptors which have the same meaning. Maybe Turbo Tax could come up with a way to recommend changes in the tax code to simplify the amount of terms used within mortgages.
What's great about it: Always quick and easy
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Couldn't e-file. Had to mail forms.

We've been filing returns for a family member for several years now without issue using Turbo Tax. She died in 2013. We figured Turbo Tax could walk us through filing for a deceased person, but we were wrong. Although it did ask if the tax payer was deceased and had us provide the date of death, from then on the program acted as if she was still alive and preparing her own return. It even offered to help her get a jump start on next year.
When it was time to file were unsure whether it could be e-filed. There were no clear instructions on filing a deceased person's return, but reading posts in their help center from other people with the same question made us think it could be done. Wrong! The e-filing was rejected with some ambiguous reason from the IRS that Turbo Tax did not explain very well. We gave up and have mailed the forms.
What's great about it: Walks you through the process step-by-step
What's not so great: Was not clear on how to handle filing for a deceased person.

I understand updates are necessary. However, when I have no idea how many there are, or, if they delay my e-filing for 45 minutes while the litany of them are downloaded -- one at a time!!! I lost count at 10 of them -- then someone on the programming side of the house has not done their homework. At least give me an option to turn on update listings in the preferences.
This was my 23rd straight year of using Intuit's tax prep tools. There are a lot of options out there now. I think that speaks for itself. It's a great product!
What's great about it: Robust, easy and essentially painless filing
What's not so great: Updates...it had to be updates! (ala, H. Ford/Raiders of the Lost Ark)

I have used Turbo Tax for 4 or 5 years now. It does everything I need for my taxes. No audits from IRS
What's great about it: Step by step for both income and deductions
What's not so great: Need better instructions for download of broker data
Pros: I bought or sold investments
