Great Program

It would be better if Quicken Essentials were coordinated with Turbo Tax. The tax related items in Quicken Essentials do not correspond to the items asked for in Turbo Tax for Schedule A; e.g., Doctors, Dentists, and Hospitals are grouped together in Quicken, but Hospitals are a separate item in Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: It is very easy to use.
What's not so great: It would be better if the Quicken Essentials were coordinated with Turbo Tax.

Over all, the program, like a certain bunny, just keeps going...
Great customer service.
BUT (are you listening, TurboTax people?) -- In California, we can choose to have our refund deposited directly into a designated account. BUT, THERE IS NO WAY THAT I COULD FIND TO ENTER THE ELECTRONIC DEPOSIT BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION INTO THE CA STATE RETURN. I did manually open the state worksheet and typed the routing and account number info there, but it would not transfer to the actual return itself; those lines in the return remained blank.
What's great about it: All-inclusive, mostly easy to use
What's not so great: One very bad glitch in the CA state return

Second time is a charm...

Installed form a store bought disk. After installing the software and beginning my federal tax return, the software failed to locate it's own saved file. I started a chat session and was quickly and agreeably routed to phone support. The person I worked with in phone support was very helpful and professional. The support person allowed me to download the same version I had purchased at the store. I uninstalled the first "disc" version and downloaded / installed the web version provided and it immediately found the file that I had stared and I was able to quickly and accurately complete my filing.
What's great about it: Good support staff.
What's not so great: First instalation failed.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Finally done and submitted

I didn't like having to go in myself and ask Turbo Tax to update, and for the first time since 1999 (always using Turbo Tax) I was left wishing I had just found someone to do my taxes for me. One question was impossible to find the answer, and when I went into forums there were three others in the last 2 months with the same question -- all left unanswered. Another problem: When I would click on File, to then click on Save, immediately afterwards it seemed to click on the Personal Information tab that the cursor just happen to be positioned over after clicking save and it would bounce me back to the very beginning. Not the wonderful experience we usually have with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: We have always liked Turbo Tax -- been users since 1999
What's not so great: This year was terrible trying to use turbo tax and find additional info

Simplify a painful process

It was very helpful to have a tutor taking me thru each step of the return, making entries and decisions clear and simple.
I appreciated having a professional presentation that provides confidence in the accuracy of the forms, should an audit occur.
What's great about it: Application led me step by step, transferred info from previous return
What's not so great: Can't think of anything
