Good Maze Guide

I have been using Turbo Tax for several years, each year seems to be easier and take less time. With my history on the computer, Turbo Tax links to that information saving me the time of locating the correct paperwork and/or typing all the information in again.
What's great about it: Draws information from last year so you don't have to hunt up stuff
What's not so great: Cannot think of any reight now

Love to redo the filing over and over again to find those little ways to save money.
What's great about it: Looks for and aids in finding those little errors.

One Area of Snags

I had already set up an Installment agreement for taxes owed in 2013. No place was I able to check this off. Turbo Tax wanted me to fill out form 9465 which I had already done and .had no place to enter this information.
What's great about it: Transfer of previous year and comparative years

Have not talked to someone to figure out why... but we seem to have "lost" our free state refund... not making me happy.
What's great about it: fairly straightforward

Bigger Refund

I expected to owe taxes but instead got a large refund. This was due to the the information questions being asked for the initial workup and then being able to select which items to review and change without having to run thru the questions again.
What's great about it: Item by item questions and the helpful explantions
What's not so great: Did not see any

Specific on what is needed on individual forms is lacking or vague. Can't guess at what IRS wants...who can?
What's great about it: Mostly easy to follow
What's not so great: Announced late need to update

We have had our taxes prepared for us in the past, but after gathering all the information it felt like a waste of money to have someone else enter it into the computer. I was pretty nervous to do this myself, but the program made it pretty painless. There were a few times I still got a bit rattled, but I was able to complete them. Furthermore, they didn't look all that different from last year's return which soothed my nerves. If all goes well, we will continue to do our own taxes and save some money. This is helpful since every year we keep losing more to taxes. I would definitely recommend the product to others.
What's great about it: Walked me through the steps.
What's not so great: Some investment parts felt tricky
