Good product.

I haven't really tried any alternative products, but I feel comfortable with TurboTax and have used it for several years. I like the way it draws in prior year data to speed things along. One suggestion: more prompts for possible invalid entries. For example, this year, in the section for W-2s, I entered my total wages correctly, then entered the same number for federal taxes withheld. I didn't notice it and didn't know why the little score box on top kept showing an obviously incorrect huge REFUND. A simple prompt ("Are sure of this amount?") would have been nice.
What's great about it: The instructions are very straightforward
What's not so great: It isn't as easy to backtrack to an earlier step as I thought it should be.

Sometimes you just need another form

Life stepped in and we didn't have the funds to pay all our taxes with our return. We needed an IRS form 9465 to include with our return and this was not available through the program.
What's great about it: Love the ease of entry as I'm guided through the return
What's not so great: Would have liked a more comprehensive list of available forms

Turbo Tax is a wonderful product. I have been using Turbo Tax for 15 years. I have used both Turbo Tax Deluxe and Turbo Tax Premier depending on what needs that I had for that specific year. The product is very easy to use with plenty of help options. I like the Audit Defense option as well. Turbo Tax makes doing my taxes a very simple task and it gives me an extreme high level of confidence that my taxes are done correctly, my return has been maximized and that I will not get audited. I would recommend Turbo Tax to anyone who wants a hassle free option of doing their taxes themselves.
What's great about it: Very easy to use. Step by step walk through the process is great. I would recommend this product to anyone.
What's not so great: Nothing worth mentioning.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have been using TurboTax for 5 yeas now and I am still happy with it. and my outcome. Now if only New York would lower their tax rate, life would be golden.

Repopulation Saves Time!

The fact that Turbo Tax can repopulate information year after year both acts as a reminder (especially with donations) and really saves time. This is our fourth or fifth year with Turbo Tax and even under the gun - filling out the form on the fourteenth - we were done in about two and a half hours - itemized!
What's great about it: Love how repopulation feature saves time plus...

when i tried to efile federal return. it told me 15 times that i had to keep updating, and if i continued to have the issue i would have to file by mail.
What's great about it: made filing taxes first time after buying house much easier
What's not so great: wouldnt allow me to efile
