My tax return software of choice

I've used Turbo Tax for years because it is a user friendly software that the average person can use without difficulties. It's very helpful with the transfer of data from the previous year's return and the comparison.
What's great about it: User friendly, gives detailed answers (learn more)

Can't remeber when I didn't use TurboTax

I've been using TurboTax forever it seems like. This year was particularly challenging: job change, job loss, separation from spouse, moving expenses, etc., etc.
The product worked like a champ and walked me through every aspect of each new challenge.
What's great about it: Works like a tax pro sitting with me
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

1- Phone support was excellent in providing state return.
2- I needed to report a Cost Basis for an equity sale. I didn't know what was required to calulate the amount and what documents were required to file. I eventually accomplished this without needing the "premium" option. I wouyld have considered using the option if there was a clearer explain of what is required and what would be provided with the additional program.

Some ways better, some ways worse

I would like to be able to go to forms, make changes and have them save and flow to the correct place.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to navigate this year. Could go back and forth between forms easily.
What's not so great: K-1 was a disaster. TT needs work on this.

Step by step

Turbo Tax is very easy and helpful to the novice user. I encountered some new issues this season and turbo made it quite simple to get through the steps. I have been a user for over ten years and would not change to anything else. Even the years I did not get a refund everything was covered thoroughly.
What's great about it: I found the easy step to be right on point and left nothing to be missed.

Great software

This is the best tax software going. I have used two other tax prep software programs before TurboTax. I switched to TurboTax after the previous one I used did not work properly and they wouldn't fix it. I have never had a problem with TurboTax since I started using it in 2007.
What's great about it: The best tax software, bar none.
What's not so great: None.
