A Piece of Cake

The government should have hired Intuit for Obamacare. Not only would the process have been easy, it would have been fast and accurate. I've used TurboTax for more years than I care to remember and I've never had any problems.
What's great about it: Easy to anwer questions; good explanations
What's not so great: Didn't like the updates at the end
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Moved to different state mid-year, State Income Tax in one, not in other. Easy to file both Fed and State returns. Used TurboTax last 4 years, will continue.
What's great about it: Quick, complete, easy to understand
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

I'm suggesting an improvement....

Also (this is a bigger deal): I had to do a Form 4852 (Substitute for Form W-2). On lines 9 & 10, it was annoying to get to the end of a line of the Continuation Statement and have to hit <enter> to go to a following line of the statement.
Then, when I went back the next day to check what I had written, I didn't see anything, so re-entered what I remembered of what I'd written the night before. When I later printed form 4852, somehow I had 3 different versions of my answer. So lines 9&10 need to be improved, made less clumsy for the user.
What's great about it: It was really easy to work through, but...
What's not so great: ...the up & down arrows on my keyboard usually didn't work.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

My computer crashed and I lost everything, including Turbo Tax. They didn't recognize me and I needed their help with my prior tax year to help with the current one. This year was important since it was the first year I did not use the qualifying widower credit but my sons were still 16 for most of the year. I am not happy with my return, I think I paid more than I should have but couldn't pay for 'assistance'. Don't think I will use Turbo Tax again until I am older and have no deductions.
What's great about it: Used Turbo tax for years
What's not so great: Could not access or answer questions.

Turbo Tax Deluxe, very disappointed!

One of two of my wife's W-2 was from Prudential reporting a third party sickpay as identified in Blocks 12 and 13. Because block 1 was empty, we cannot efile........ Really? I hope this isn't isolated to "Turbo Tax Only", but if it is.......... On top of that, I went back to check the online W-2 page, and it said "if none, leave blank"....and then the very next page it says "Box 1 is empty" and goes on to say "if the amount in box 1 of your W-2 is zero, enter zero" which directly contradicts itself. Then at the end, I find out that I cannot efile because I have a W-2 with a zero balance. Really? Disappointed, with pictures and video of how the program operated.
What's great about it: Polite Phone Representatives
What's not so great: Doesn't flow, has confusing pages and contradicts itself!!!
