I have been using Turbos Tax since it first became available and have never had a problem until this year. I was unable to eFile. Got a message that said I needed updates, followed instructions and was still unable to eFIle. Other than that it was terrific.

Turbo Tax walks you through evrything needed, allows you to stop anytime, come back when you want and re-do anything you might think is inaccurate. Takes you through all the places you did not know you needed and checks all the work in the end.
What's great about it: Dragged me through everything necessary
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I want to print federal and state forms easier, when I want to review. I mail my state return and thought it took too long to get to steps to print the forms.
What's great about it: Easy to use for income & deductions
What's not so great: Difficult to print state return
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Very easy to use. It was a first time experience with an education credit and an HSA form, both were easy to understand and use!

See pros and cons. I made the mistake of using a competing brand last year; won't make that mistake again. TurboTax is pricy though.
What's great about it: Very easy to use.
What's not so great: Expensive, including e-filing charge AFTER initial purchase.

Cruising the Tax Highway

I used a CPA for over thirty years. He had a heart attacked which forced him to sell his practice right about tax time. One of my partners had used Turbo Tax to do our partnership for years and had been happy. I made the plunge and swam easily through the tax quagmire...
What's great about it: Simple, easy to use.
What's not so great: A couple of things to be corrected, but no easy explanation what to do.

I have used TurboTax for over 7 years.
After I completed my Federal and State tax returns with Turbotax this year, I went to the state e-file website to enter my state data.
The state website calculator gave me over $250 more in my refund than TurboTax did.

What's great about it: Easy to Use
What's not so great: State refund calculations did not agree with the State website calculations.
