Printing and review
on April 14, 2014

Printing: In years past it was easy to print a copy for my records, then print a copy for Federal mailing, then print a copy for State mailing. There was a page where you could select one, then the other, then the other. I don't need the copy now for Federal (Electronic filing) but I do for the State, as well as for my records. It was very confusing to figure out how to do both. I wish you would go back to the same way it used to be done for printing. If you need more info on this, send me an email and I will respond.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Have used for many years and find it trustworthy
What's not so great: Printing.

Inconsistent user interface
on April 14, 2014

I have been the TurboTax fan for probably 10+ years already. I was very impressed in my first experience with the software for its wizard style (step by step) work flow that really hides the complexity of tax codes from the users. Nevertheless, over the years, I also found some inconsistent behavior with its user interface. For example, I can never know when do I have to click "Continue" or have to click "Yes" or "No" button to go on to the next question. Sometimes the choices of "Yes" & "No" are presented as the options on the description area (upper part); but often times they are presented as the "Yes" & "No" action buttons below the description. Further more, the function of the "Back" button is not very clear or consistent. It doesn't really back out of what you just did, perhaps, it needs a "Cancel" button that allows the users to really undo what's been done. I can also suggest that the description area could be made into an area with scrollers which would be resizable and would allow the users to keep the action buttons (Continue, Yes/No) visible at all times.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Inconsistent user interface

Great Tax Program
on April 14, 2014

I have used the program for several years. It is very well done. The program has the easy of use for everyone, and gives the options for new users with the walk through, to seasoned professionals who want to do it themselves.
It has everything needed to do a thorough tax preparation. All forms, step-by-step guidance, Tax professionals to help answer questions, and much more information
I wouldn't use any other program.
What's great about it: Very simple and easy to use
What's not so great: none

It's so easy to fall in love!

I like that I could look at what I want to but ignore anything that I didn't need.
It was very easy to use. User-friendly.
I almost forgot to put my Federal Return in my state return. I think that it needs to be listed on the instructions right by "don't forget to sign and date your return."
What's great about it: Selectivity
What's not so great: Apprehension that I'm doing it wrong
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax would not allow me to e-file. It kept telling me to upload updates even though I did three or four times. Finally decided to print and file by mail.

Did What It Is Supposed To

Does a decent job for simple, run-of-the-mill taxes, but unusual situations result in errors with very little info for troubleshooting.
What's great about it: Accurate, saves time
What's not so great: Difficult to get help when things are not typical
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
