this was very fast, easy and painless. I have been wasting money going to tax stores.
What's great about it: Easy

Virginia and California have unusual arrangement for taxation of income earned in VA by CA resident--I've provided feedback to Turbotax on this for several years--finally seems to have been fixed.
Tried to use new IRS Simplified Method for claiming business use of office in home--even tho business had large profit and deduction would have been small, Turbotax wouldn't allow it. Maybe my fault--even consulted IRS worksheets which seemed to allow it, but couldn't get it to work on Turbotax. Maybe try again later and hopefully be able to amend.

What's great about it: Finally fixed claiming credit for Calif. tax on Virginia return after several years
What's not so great: Had lots of trouble with instructions for claiming home office using Simplified Method

I really like the walk me through process. Have used Turbo tax for many years and have found it very user friendly.
What's great about it: Most helps I needed were good. Turbo tax is easy to use.
What's not so great: Some "community" responses not so good or helpful.

I have been using this software for more than five years and would recomend it. Dont waste your money on a CPA for a simple return
What's great about it: Captures last year return so you can compare, free federal e-file
What's not so great: cost for state e-file

Like and use your product for years. DO NOT LIKE: Why you would solicit more "affordible health insurance" to users of this program.
What's great about it: Easy, Quick. Help is available
What's not so great: Not sure how well it would work with someone with a more complicated return. Long or short term gains or losses.

I always feel that if I do not file electronically, Tubo Tax makes it difficult.
The whold federal process of doing taxes is dummied down for all of us non-professionals. 99% of the steps are made easy and /or intuitive.
Except for filing Federal and mailing state and SDIT. A tiny amount of finishing the program, like all the other areas, and this would be a five star.
What's great about it: 99% of the steps are made easy and /or intuitive.
What's not so great: After the fed e-file; the state was difficult. Due to the fact that I would not give more money.

Hard to e-file!

I found it very frustrating to e-file on my Mac computer this year. I tried to do the update that Turbo Tax suggested but that still did not work. I was getting a validation error that I needed to get updates. I finally went to the help option in Turbotax and typed in my problem. I found one review there that said that they needed to actually update their computer itself before they could get the e-file option to work in Turbo Tax. I did this and was successful in getting it filed finally. It was a lot of stress. I would suggest that the Turbo Tax program be more specific that you may need to update your computer and not the Turbo Tax program.
What's great about it: Easy instructions
What's not so great: Hard to e-file on Mac computer - very frustrated
