Turbo Tax - Makes filing a piece of cake!

I'm a repeat user, thanks to Turbo Tax being SO user friendly! It spoon-feeds the user in a easily understood step-by-step process. You can't go wrong! It will give you a choice of being led thru ALL the tax categories or you may manually pick your own to complete. A complete review is included that checks for possible audit items and warns you if any exist. A free e-File is also included with specific and detailed instructions. Filing taxes can't get much easier! I highly recommend TurboTax!
What's great about it: User friendly, includes audit check and free e-file
What's not so great: Lacking all of sales tax "TYPES"

Long Time User

I've been using this product since the '90s. Some years I have very complicated returns. Only once in all these years did I run into a situation where I had to seek outside help to know what form to use. Obviously I find this product to be an excellent tax preparation tool or I wouldn't return to it. I don't have a lot of patience if I can't find or get an answer quickly. I have used the paid for services and received quick and reliable responses. I highly recommend this product for first time users or old pro like me.
What's great about it: Can download from financial institutions so investment earnings are properly recorded
What's not so great: There are a lot of categories that I don't use that I still have to "continue" through
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Super easy! I have never filed my own taxes. I have always paid someone else to do them. But this was so easy. I would recommend this to anyone, regardless of how complicated their returns are. Turbo Tax offers success!
What's great about it: Very user friendly. I was nervous. I have never filed my own taxes. I have always paid someone else to do them.
What's not so great: NONE!

the only unclear part was interpreting some arcane entries on a Form K with more than one kind of income - everything else was just dandy

An Excellent Method for Doing Your Taxes

After 8 years of using Turbo Tax, the process gets easier and easier each year. You can be guided through all sections or explore them independently, if you are more confident in what you are doing, and an error check process is included as a fail-safe. You simply answer the questions and fill in the required information. And my favorite part is the ticker showing your refund throughout the process.
What's great about it: Easy to use, step by step process
What's not so great: Not knowing exactly which tax form line item you are working on

This is the fifth time I've used TurboTax to do my own preparation. I think the format and useful information, at least for my (I'm retired) tax prep, makes it pretty easy and straight-forward. It has also caused me to be a bit more organized, thru the year, with filing my paperwork. I also like that the previous year's figures are forwarded onto the current year - which gives an easy look and comparison with what happened the year before. Good program! and less expensive than a CPA.
What's great about it: Still and again...it made MY tax prep pretty easy.
What's not so great: Nothing quickly comes to mind.

Has Always Been A Great Application

What's great about it: The methodology of how it walks me through the process.
What's not so great: None.
