Confused

I have been using Turbo tax for 10 years, and for the first time, I had an awful time trying to complete it. What should have been and easy short tax return was a nightmare. I will be looking something a little more understandable next year. If you are really interested in the problems that I had, send me an email with a phone number that I can talk to you in detail. I will be more than happy to go through the problems of this program.

Solicitations were few, just the right amount of reviews, and hints were appropriate.
What's great about it: Website pages loaded quickly, questions were direct and relevant

Easy, easy

Very easy to use, but importing is still a little tricky. Sales tax deduction was missing and no automatic update(or notice of update) was provided. In years past it seems there were update notices when you opened the program.
What's great about it: Ease of inputing information and reviewing progress
What's not so great: updates did not come automatically, I had to search to see if there were any.

The way tax topics are visited

I like the way tax related questions are asked. Feels quite like how a tax consultant might ask.
Added feature:
Many times tax situations don't change much from year-to-year.
So based on what user inputs are provided for current tax year,
if the software can suggest ways to improve on tax savings, by
either choosing certain investment options or types of donations; or plan any home improvements. The user can keep in mind recommendations and decide to change life style.

One issue I noticed with Child Dependent care module:
I mis-entered the amount spent on each child for after school care. Essentially the total spent on each child, did not match
the total spent on all the service providers used.
But the consistency/Error check tool did not catch this.

What's great about it: Detailed questions asked for customer/user to figure out tax situation.
What's not so great: Add features like how taxes could be saved for the next year based on current responses.

Filing Taxes

I have been filing with TurboTax for several years. I like that I don't have to refill in all my info each year, that TurboTax imports all that for me. I especially like Its Deductible for keeping track of my itemized deductions. I don't have to try to figure out the value of donated goods-Its Deductible does that for me. I think TurboTax is mistake-proof as far as math figures are concerned and I like that TurboTax is so thorough that it prevents me from omitting credits and other deductions.
What's great about it: Easy to understand and follow, math mistake-proof
