I have used Turbo Tax to do my taxes for around 12 years and have been very satified with the ease and options available to me.
What's great about it: It is so easy to do your taxes
What's not so great: I buy a new copy of the program every year

Pros and Cons tell it all.
What's great about it: Guided tax help from start to finish.
What's not so great: An update in the early AM caused pop ups like crazy to occur on my desktop - I shut down the wireless and ran a scan :(!

Good overall.
1. But there was no option at the end before filing to get one last check for tax updates
2. There should be a screen on the step by step for capital gains to compare each transaction with the 1099 B from the broker. The only way to check in your current version is to go to the tax form supplemental sheet.

I've noticed over the years how much easier it is to navigate the program. I've always used the Deluxe version for my family with great results. I convinced my brother to get the Business version to do his taxes after he had a problem with his accountant. He's getting the hang of it !
It covers most common tax situations and the FAQ's usually contain answers to "uncommon" situations.
Wish there was a little more help for the beginning investor. Some items just let me know that information was missing, but didn't offer much help if the information was also missing from my document (cost basis, for instance).

Overall, it is an excellent program!
What's great about it: Covers all common tax situations
What's not so great: Wish it had a little more information regarding stocks for the beginner.

Good program but success has caused them to raise the price too much over the years.
What's great about it: easy to navigate, easy to understand
What's not so great: expensive. Price has risen sharply over the years

Quick and Simple

Turbo Tax has been making it easy for me for many years now. All the data from last year is right there, no need to go looking up obscure files from last year, trying to remember.
It's just quick, accurate, and simple
What's great about it: Good Step by Step where needed, easy to do forms when you know what you're doing
What's not so great: Can't think of any -- could be cheaper, of course?
