Turbo Tax lives up to hype

I like the Easy Guide to take me through the form so I don't forget anything and the help option. Doing my taxes became easier. I would be forever on the phone with the IRS trying to get verification of an issue I didn't quite understand. Turbo Tax saved me approximately 4 hours of sheer madness. The only problem I had was, there wasn't an entry in box 14 of my Form 1099-R and I didn't know what they wanted me to do. I think I figured it out. I will definitely buy Turbo Tax again next year.
What's great about it: Easy Guide is a blessing
What's not so great: An Error wasn't fully explained

What's great about it: Good flow ...

Tthings that Turbo Tax can't handle

Turbo Tax Business in the Trusts and Estates section will not download from a brokerage or Bank. Trusts often have extensive investments resulting in many pages of form 8949 being written by hand, a very time consuming process. I had to make a patch by downloading to Personal Deluxe, then laboriously overriding the information onto Sched D.
Turbo Tax Deluxe does not handle passive loss forward or foreign tax forward without overriding inputs.
Deluxe makes a mess of form 2210 underpayment of tax.. I you want to use the annualized method all of the entries are overrides, and the program will not even do the math for you. I wrote mine out by hand. Same on the Michigan form

What's great about it: fast and easy for us last minute filers
What's not so great: would like to be able to see actual entries from previous years taxes

Just Plain Easy

I really appreciated the ability to import a large portion of my return and save me the time and effort to input, review, rereview, worry about mistyping a number.
What's great about it: It asks for about anything you could have that impacts your taxes.
What's not so great: Still looking

Suggestion to correct state oversight

Colorado state form 104 shows Date of Birth as MM/DD/YY.
I did my mother-in-law tax return for CO and her date of birth shows as YY =13 which could be 2013 or 1913 which in her case is 1913!.
Could you print the correct 4 digit year?
Do you give feed back to the State tax authority?

NJ forms were complicated and WRONG

ON NJ THERE WERE NO ANSWERS FOR A MISTAKE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED EASILY. NJ FORMS INSISTED I WAS FILING SEPARATELY FROM MY WIFE EVEN THOUGH ALL THE PERSONAL DATA INDICATED THAT THIS WAS A JOINT TAX RETURN. I NOW HAVE TO MANUALLY ENTER ALL INFORMATION SO THAT I CAN GET MY FULL REFUND FOR THE TOTAL PROPERTY TAX WE PAID.
What's not so great: I AM SO DONE WITH TURBO TAX, NEVER AGAIN
