MOSTLY PROS

Ability to enter the amount for the refund from 2012 into ES amounts for 2013 was more clear in previous years. Last year, it specifically identified it. This year, after I entered the 4 required ES payments, I was at a loss as to where to enter it . After I clicked to continue I found a place to enter it but, it was not identified as that being the spot for that item specifically.
When I was done entering and checking, I could not easily identify the place to hit the button to submit the total file. Not clear if the pin request was mandatory or not. I had trouble getting by state taxes in spite of the fact that Florida only requires limited requirements to file. When going through the inputs, I said no to the state tax forms. Was that not enough? I had trouble getting around you additional offers.

Overall very positive. Have used for years, will continue to use. There could be more/better help screens/information.

Does a great job, but runs slowly

I love Turbotax and use it every year, and will continue to do so, but you need to do something about the program running so slowly. There were many times I had to wait five minutes because it wasn't responding. Even a progress bar or a waiting icon that would let me know it was busy would be better than how it sits there, not responding for a long time, and then receives all of the clicks you made while it wasn't working.
What's great about it: Files my tax returns perfectly
What's not so great: Runs poorly

Program Changes Needed

I bought my TurboTax close to filing time, but unless I missed it, the update info was not until the end of some data input. Suggest you move update request info up front.
The Foreign Tax Section is confusing. Suggest you ask if Foreign Tax Paid is $300 or less; if so, go directly to Foreign Tax Paid Credit as no form 1116 is needed.
On-screen data regarding state tax deduction showed one figure, while when adjusted for local taxes still showed the same on screen, albeit not on Schedule B, which was correct.
I've used TurboTax for several years and have found it very helpful, though confusing at times. As a (now retired) Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteer, I've found the simpler, the better.
What's great about it: Overall, an excellent program
What's not so great: Occasionally goes off into the way blue yonder.

very confusing

I have loved turbo tax in the past, but when doing the review it kept telling me I had incomplete information. but never what that incomplete information was.. it took almost 2 hours just to figure out want it wanted...I can see no reason that it wouldn't just show me what it wanted..very poorly written program when dealing with this. and figuring out where to enter the 1089-t information.
What's great about it: good if you are not a student, but not good if you are

What's great about it: They ask all the right questions
What's not so great: Too Easy
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Smooth sailing

Customer for 20+ years and will continue to be. Had a sanity check with my tax adviser and she refused to charge me because everything was complete and accurate.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Filing state is expensive and it's not easly to file federal electronically and state manually
