Now I don't know if I filed the state tax. It's confusing.
What's great about it: easy to follow
What's not so great: The box says you get one free state return but then they ask for payment.

basic questions

1. I have used Turbo tax for 5 years now and each year's new software has NEVER been able to import the information from previous years -- what's up with that? Why not! I save the documents the way the program recommends, and the next year it is unable to read its own file? WHY?
2. I was not able to file electronically and never found out why, or how to correct whatever it was that prevented me from doing so -- very frustrating. The program kept telling me to download updates which we did, but that did not help.
3. The program was unable to understand that we moved one of us BACK to our home city form being away -- not moving away from our home city. We ultimately did not pursue this moving expense, losing some deductions, I'm sure.
4. It was a very steep learning curve to figure out how to correct errors -- the program refers to lines on IRS forms that you are not familiar with as you enter the information. It was very time consuming to locate the proper forms and do the math (something you'd expect the program to do for you ...).
5. Overall a very frustrating experience -- next year I might try another program ...

It was good. Lead me through all the possible deductions... but I wish some of the legal descriptions were in plainer speech. But overall very good.
What's great about it: I like the guidance and showing me last year's as well as this year's.
What's not so great: I wish that the State of MI still allowed public donations to be deducted.

Each year the taxes seem more complicated, but I have been using Turbo tax for many years and you make it pretty straight forward with your questions and work through process.

Clear/Complete and Options!

Used for years and makes it easy, alerts when missed items, love the comparison to last year's return. The check for errors is great and easy to understand. Electronic filing is the only way to go. Filled 20 minutes ago and received notice of acceptance by IRS!
What's great about it: Walk through approach with ability to individually go back and review input by section.
What's not so great: None
