I needed a message board to get he sales of mlps not double reported. help on it was there, but very obscure and hard to find ,with the brokerage's reporting most sales, turbo tax need to work in this area for next year.
What's not so great: les of mlp's were difficult

the company I retired from was bought by a new company. the set retirement monthly payments were changed to the new companies financial accounts. Part of my pension payments were from the old account and there were no problems with the 1099 data entry. The new account handled the rest of my pension payments for the year. I assume because it looked like a new pension and I am older than 70 1/2, TurboTax questioned me about MDR. I contacted the company paying the pension now and they said since this was a continuing set pension payment there was no MDR. The only way I could get past that data entry was to say that all of the pament was to meet the MDR (not exactly true). needs some way to indicate change in payer but same pension payments or a way to indicate no MDR required.
After the initial data entry, I wanted to make some changes to some of my deductions. It was difficult to get to the detail to make changes. When I wanted to make a change I selected the entry and TurboTax would take me to the summary of that type of deduction and the only way I could get to the detail was to delete the dollar amount in the summary. Needs a edit/detail button to take you to the detail.
I think it would be helpful to see a summary of what caused some of the Social Security income to be taxed. You show the amount taxed but not why it was taxed.
Thanks, I am a longtime user of TurboTax and like it a lot.
What's great about it: fairly stright forward
What's not so great: when I wanted to edit a section it was often difficult to get to the detail to make changes

Turbo Tax worked great until this year

I have used Turbo Tax (on CD) for the past 15 years. Have always recommended it to my friends. This year it was unable to retrieve 2 of the 3 returns I had saved to my hard drive. I worked with excellent customer support (Tyler and Justin) but we were unable to get it to work. I had to completely re-enter all info. I was really disappointed and as I had bought the cd again this year, was unable to save to the on-line version so will have to do the same next year if I use the on line version (which I probably will)
What's great about it: Ease of use and support
What's not so great: corrupted files unable to retrieve past years

Minimized My TAX

From the beginning the transfer of data from 2012 was quick and accurate. At the end the printing of forms and filing returns was easy and accurate.
What's great about it: Was thorough and ask more questions than I had answers for. Good job.
What's not so great: Not much not to like.

3rd year in a row I have done my taxes with Turbo-tax. It is very easy, yet accurate, every year.
What's great about it: Step-by-Step directions make it simple and easy.
What's not so great: I can't think of any cons....

Taxes made easy

Been using turbo tax since the 3.5" floppy disc version (1993)! Can't imagine doing taxes any other way. Have converted Parents and Sister as well.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions, filing and accuracy
What's not so great: expensive for deluxe versions

So much easier than an accountant

I really like how easy and quick it is to do my taxes with TurboTax. Just get my stuff together and knock it out!

2013 Taxes

I use to do taxes the old fashion way which took me on average a week to do. With Turbo Tax I'm able to complete my taxes in a day. What an awesome program. I definitely will use this program every tax year.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
