Have used Turbo Tax since it came out and will continue to in the future.

The program doesn't seem to transfer some information from previous year like Depreciation info on cars and trucks. Like what method of calculation (mileage vs actual cost) was used the year before, and then indicating if a different method can be used for the current return. Odometers fail, cars or trucks used for all driving are apt to be relegated to specific use as they get older which means less miles and more repairs.
What's not so great: Difficulty in returning to step by step where you left off. Failed to instruct where to put 1099 misc income during sbs.

Although I live in Texas with no state tax. I do my sons taxes.
He lives in OK. It was a hassle to get a free download voucher.

Very Good But Room For Improvement

Overall the Turbo Tax Deluxe for Mac is outstanding. It's a breeze to complete a return because of all of the help and guidance provided by the internal assistance provided in the program. The only issue I have is related to technical glitches from time to time. When you get a message that the returns won't transmit even though the returns were indicated as error-proof by the program, one can get very frustrated. At this point, it should be really easy to be able to contact TurboTax directly to get help with the technical issue. However, it's not obvious how to do this. One is instead referred to previously asked questions and the answers provided to other tax preparers.
What's great about it: Facilitated Completion of Returns is outstanding
What's not so great: Technical glitches can be exasperating

worst ever experience with your service. lack of automatic update on sales tax and no reasonable method to apply refund to next years taxes stick out as totally inadequate. I'm still trying to figure out how to apply refund to 2014 taxes. You lost me, and I've been using turbotax for 10 yrs plus

Trouble Free way to file taxes

I've used TurboTax for several years. I've even had to file an amended federal and 3 amended state tax returns (because of mistakes I made in entering information for those returns).
TurboTax makes it possible for me to focus on getting the correct information - and then letting it do the work in correctly filling out the forms.
As much as I hate filling tax returns, TurboTax makes the job so much less painful.
What's great about it: The guided steps tell me exacty what needs to be done. Also LOVE the way it gets information from the preveious year

entering extra income and general difficulty with instructions. doubt I will use this again

What's not so great: kept repeating income on rentals/royalties esp royalties and difficult to delete
