Not bad

1. When switching between Forms View and Step-by-Step, when going back to Step-by-Step, the program does not remember where I left off. It repeats questions that I have already been answered. 2. There was no worksheet showing me how under-payment penalty calculation was made. 3. I would like to see more information built in the tool on whether or not estimated payments are necessary. 4. I had some corrections that needed to be made on a 1099 that was imported. I attempted "override" directly in forms. There should have been a note at that time telling me to use step-by-step to modify any amounts, since calculations will not be done otherwise. 5. I manually entered 1099 data. Then did an import. It did not overwrite the manually entered data, rather it added that brokerage as a separate 1099, doubling my investment income amounts. There should be some type of Note/Warning for this. 6. When you import a 1099, there should be a message to let the user know that data on Costs and Proceeds for stock sales has been imported. Then, the user can verify this data. [I did not know that this data was included in my combined 1099 and first entered the cost basis/sales proceeds manually] Thank you. Keep improving :-).
What's great about it: Still a great tool
What's not so great: Remember where I left off on Step-by-Step
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Like your software!

I enjoy using your software, This is my fourth year using it. You walk me through it step-by-step. This year I encountered a little problem. For the first time, I needed to enter a small investment income from a company merger and had just a little problem finding out how to enter it. The cost of Premier Turbo Tax cost more than the little gain.
What's great about it: Simply entered my information when asked.
What's not so great: Had a very small investment gain. Had trouble finding out how to enter it.

printing my state return
on April 14, 2014

this years turbo tax was confusing. from loading the software ( it did not pick up my 2012 information). I had to call Turbo tax of help. to Printing out just the state tax form. I efiled my federal but then it just wanted to close out without printing my state tax forms to file. And...don't we still have to enclose the Federal with the State filing??? It only prints the state form.
What's not so great: did not offer this

This version of Turbo Tax was the best one yet. Redundant questions were removed, addresses for charities weren't required, and it took less time to complete. Thanks for the great improvements.
What's great about it: Very easy to follow the step by step instructions
What's not so great: There weren't any!

good but odd

When you are following something like this, everything has to be correct. One misdirection and you can find yourself wondering what else is wrong or am I doing this right. I have, every year, hit one or two of these things. This year, it asked if the person I was doing this for was deceased. I said yes, and it then asked if she has insurance for the next year among other stupid questions.
What's great about it: works
What's not so great: still can get you a little confused
