Great - Year In, Year Out!

I have used TurboTax or MacInTax for well over 20 years. Always right and couldn't be simpler. Never been audited (knock on wood)! Always felt that I was getting the best service and support with explanations of every topic. Highly recommended!!
What's great about it: Year-to-year continuity cannot be beat.
What's not so great: No multi-year comparison of state filings.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

easier than last year

I don't know what the difference was but it was much easier to navigate this year, so much so that I thought I did something wrong. When I needed to get to a specific item, it was difficult trying to use search when I did not know the exact term. I still think the price could be a little less expensive, especially for those of us who use it every year.
What's great about it: easier than any previous year

So much better than an accountant

If you have fairly straight forward taxes, this program can't be beat. It takes so much effort to get the info to an accountant--might as well just do it yourself by the time all your info is collected!
What's great about it: Take your time, research your questions--import last years info!!
What's not so great: A little too much hard sell of the upgrades

Just a suggestion

I often help my children prepare their returns. They are very simple with a single W2 and very little if any non-ira type interest. It would be nice if there was a quick wizard to speed up what was once an 1040EZ form. The same would be nice for the state.

User Friendly for sure

Have used TurboTax for years and continues to be as easy as ever. Information is transferred from previous year and you are reminded of previous year's items when entering this years figures. My wife is self employed and TurboTax handles her business information very well. Fortunately we have all her business income and expenses from a profit and loss report from QuickBooks so it is easy.
Overall just an easy experience (except for writing the check to the IRS!).
What's great about it: Very structured and complete
