Prompt users to download updates earlier!!!

I would have reviewed your product much, much more highly if I had not run into serious problem with e-filing at the very end of the process. The transmission failed because of updates that were required, but I had to check for uploads and download them about ten times before I could successfully file. This was extremely frustrating and really should not happen. Please prompt users to check for and download required updates much earlier in the process and not right at the very end, and bundle these updates so that users do not have to download the updates over and over and over to receive all of the required ones so that they can successfully file.
What's great about it: Liked the product overall--everything except the updates
What's not so great: Endless updates that made my electronic transmission fail over and over

selecting forms

Environmental and financial soundness would suggest that printing of the payment vouchers should be an elected activity instead of a mandatory activity. Especially in light of the fact that 2/3 of the page is not printed.
What's great about it: Overall good
What's not so great: forms

I have used Turbo Tax for many years now. I continue to be impressed by how thorough the step-by-step processes is. Each year it seems to get better.
What's great about it: Previousl years data automatcally retrieved into the current year. Easy to follow.

I had already filed my taxes when I helped my dad prepare his. He was asked questions that I was not, and in reviewing these I noticed that Turbo Tax did not walk me through the same questions. This means I missed a deduction and now I will need to go back and file a revised form. Annoyed with this.
What's great about it: Easy to use, good links for more in depth information
What's not so great: Turbo Tax presented me with different options than it presented another household member.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Although I was supposed to be able to file one State Return at no charge, I was charged for my return. Same experience as last year. I prepared several returns for family members but did not efile any State Returns saving the free efile for my personal return. I could not efile my return without having it charged to my credit card. Had the same experience last year. Next year I will research other tax software rather than use Turbo Tax even though I have used Turbo Tax for at least ten years. Expect a refund applied to my credit card for today's charge.
What's great about it: Good experience with preparing retuirns
What's not so great: Failed to provide one free efile for State Return

Sounds fake but I love Turbo Tax. It has been my goto tax program starting when I was married with a child, then adopted a child, sold a house and have a child now in college. I have sold stock, bought stock and received dividends. Each event was easy to do, as long as I have the forms. Even that is easy now, I know what I will need and save them in my tax file. I like the highlighted sections to get more information. It actually helps a bit with future planning. I also really like having comparisons from the previous year. I can easily see if something is very different and should or shouldn't be. I'm on auto-buy. I don't have to think much about doing my taxes anymore.
What's great about it: Easy, Easy with detailed info if you need it
What's not so great: None, used for 10 years at least, it's evolved with all my changes

I have used TurboTax for a number of years. This year was more difficult than normal for me. There were a number of times that it said something like "checking for something" and I had to wait 10-15 seconds for it to do this. It did do a good job of transferring normal stock market trades but it could not do option trades. It said to use Gainskeeper but when I tried that it said I needed to sign up for it. I had inadvertently signed up for a business expenses form. I did not have any expenses but Turbotax kept referring to the need to fill out this form. I tried to delete it, but could not. Finally had to fill out something in title of form to get by it.. Turbotax at one point said I had itemized deduction of $22,000 but I should use the standard deduction of $14,000 without explaining why.
What's great about it: It is fast, logical and complete.
What's not so great: Does not handle the sale of stock options(verticals) well. Slow to move from one area to another. Di
Pros: I bought or sold investments
