Electronic Filing Issue, but professionally solved
on April 14, 2014

A great experience, except for the final e-payment glitch. The TT rep in the call center effectively and courteously solved the problem -- a "10"
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is faster and simpler this year, easier to use.
What's not so great: At the end, accepting my online payment did not work, unlike all previous years I have used TT, until TT rep solved it.

Another glitch.

After easily completing return, was not able to file because TT said I needed an update, which was not the case. After wasting time trying to update several times, I finally called TT and competent Mac team member resolved issue in 5 minutes. THE EASY TO FOLLOW STEP-BY-STEP RESOLUTION INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD HAVE BEEN BEEN INCLUDED ON THE "TRANSMISSION FAILED" PAGE. WASTED TIME.
What's great about it: Easy to complete
What's not so great: Could not transmit return. TT error.

Generally this version not so hot. Had disability pay no explanation or work sheet how program arrived at figure it applied, We paid 1/2 for disability insurance.
Printing the return was a nightmare. Past versions of the program worked fine. This left you twisting in the wind unless you wish to e-file, I DID NOT! Program was fine as it was. You have not repeat not gotten better only different.
Discussed I will not be recommending this to anyone in the future.
What's great about it: not thrilled print process in past versions worked properly
What's not so great: print process instructions non egsistant. keeps diorecting you to e-file

Best Turbo Tax program yet!!

It only took me about two days from start to finish to complete both Federal and State tax. If I had all my info together before I started then maybe a few hours at most. I like being able to start and stop when ever I wanted. The program is easy to read and the help hints were great.

Easy to Use

Overall, we've been using Turbo Tax for years & find it to be extremely easy to input and file. The "walk-through" interview prompts me for all the information needed. We very much like the automatic transfer of last years information. Most of the time, it does not alter greatly year to year in terms of employer information, deductions, and last years final numbers (for comparison). E-filing is super simple and secure too. Only recommendation would be for a small help link on pages where questions require an understanding of IRS vocabulary.
What's great about it: Automatic transfer of last years details
What's not so great: Could use a link on each page to specifically explain IRS question

Federal great, state poor

PA state program a problem. I had a federal K1 form and it could not figure out how to deal with it. I don't think it did it correctly, but at least it included it on my pa tax form. Also, at one point, I got instructions to send K1 and 1099R in with paper return, but final instructions did not mention this. Uncertain as to what to include when submitting state form on paper since it could not be submitted electronically. Must be improved before I would buy the state program again.
What's great about it: federal great
What's not so great: PA state poor
