TurboTax makes a dreaded task ... better.

We have been using TurboTax since before Intuit bought it; since (at least) 1981!
1. Would be nice to get an AARP discount.
2. Adjustable font size would be very helpful.
3. Prefer ability to close the help panel on the right of the screen; it would make the work area larger. Put all those options on the tools drop down list.
4. Put the Add Detail Documentation on the tools list. It isn't intuitive to double click on an item and a person could miss it.
5. Need to be able to print pages like the confirmation page and PIN signature page; they don't show up in the forms list either.

User Friendly, even for non techies!

I really like the package that allows me to complete several federal returns and one state with the purchase price of the software . As a CPA I'm expected to complete my kids and parent's returns for them free of charge, and it's very handy to only have to pay for the software/transmission fee once, since I don't get reimbursed by those family members! I rarely have any trouble getting the software to work how I think it should as a tax professional. I am always challenged by using the software for completing my pastor's federal tax returns, however. Seems like every year I have to "trick" the software to get it to file pastor's SE schedule as it needs to be completed.
What's great about it: Very intuitive, allows me as CPA to only do the sections I need to
What's not so great: Montana return would not allow me to re-distribute deductions between spouses more than one time
Pros: I bought or sold investments

This just gets easier

After organizing all the appropriate documents, the Turbo-Tax process is a breeze.
What's great about it: Simple to process with a little preparation
What's not so great: Sitting down and doing it
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Always a Pleasure

This program has always made it easy to insure that you find and benefit from all applicable credits/ deductions and etc to receive your full refund. I have used this program for the pass 24 years and would never consider completing my taxes without it.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: I can not think of a con

my tax filing requirements and topics are very simple. turbo tax software provides far more than i need.
maybe there should be turbo tax software that can be purchased for much lower prices by retirees with very simple tax returns like mine.
