Charged for e-file for state when it said the first one was free. Said everything was good to e-file federal form.Sent and rejected 3 times

TURBO TAX - A great return on a small investment!

I have been using Turbo Tax Deluxe for our family's tax preparation and filing for more than 19 years. Prior to this, I manually prepared our returns every year, except for 2 years when I paid a premium fee to two different CPAs to prepare our returns - both which cost us dearly in the long run due to errors on the CPAs' parts!!!
Turbo Tax is a tool I cannot and will not live without! In the years I have used it, it has guided me through tax returns which included home-based businesses, independent contractor income, the purchase and sale of homes, and a long-term rental property ownership and sale.
I am so grateful for the thoroughness and accuracy of the Turbo Tax calculations and the ease with which tax-related information can be imported, tracked, and compared from year to year. The easy Step-by-Step interview process really helps to maximize our deductions, check for and correct errors before filing, and to develop tax-saving strategies for the future. The quick links it provides to additional information are invaluable, and the follow-up status reports after initial filing really assist me and my family in tracking our return outcomes.
With Turbo Tax, I can face tax season every year with calmness and confidence. Thank you, Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Very user friendly for beginning and experienced users; easy and accurate data import; quick links to additional info.
What's not so great: None found.

Your software does not allow me to put my 1099 Misc income on line 21 of the 1040 form. I receive car allowance and director's fees and I have to fill out schedule c. That is not accurate.

I like the fact that I can see the totals from previous returns, but when trying to understand why some numbers are different from previous years I cannot dig deeper. REQUEST: could we get a read-only view of prior years, or am I stuck going back to my paper records which are dutifully put away now?
What's great about it: Quick, easy, and to the point
What's not so great: Historical comparisons difficult

I would recommend Turbo Tax to anyone filing themselves. The transmitting of prior year's information really saves time!
What's great about it: TT was easy to use and had helpful information to explain each section.

Usin' it for years

I have used Turbo Tax for at least the last 10 years and have had no problems. If you have all your info and a reasonable knowledge of your situation it's a breeze.
What's great about it: takes you right through your return with the least amount of pain
What's not so great: Help feature can be vauge on some topics
