I have relied on TurboTax and MacIntax for many years. I have never had a problem with their program.
What's great about it: Straight forward, fairly easy.
What's not so great: The IRS. They are the biggest CON out there.

Malfunction

System kept asking for the name of the university and then the name was longer longer longer repeated every time we typed into the blank. We questioned what made the refund keep changing because the numbers in the blanks kept disappearing too.

Would not buy again. Do not see the point when you can not print: forms come out blank.

Couldn't e-file TT

Your program took my money for e-filing before it tried to e-file. Fine. But then it kept giving an error message telling me to update over and over and over again. Why would you do that? Every year you create some new annoying glitch that prevents the system from working right the first or second or third or fourth time. Next year, it's some other program!!!
What's great about it: most of he program works
What's not so great: couldn't e-file

Turbotax - You Rock!!

We have used TurboTax for several years and it takes the sting out of having to process a return. Love this application and would recommend it to everyone - Young & Old alike. It's so darn easy to use.

Very Disappointed

I have used Turbotax for many years and never have come across the problems I had this year. Simple 1040A forms weren't available and I couldn't update from the online tool. I have to manually find instructions and follow them. I then purchase a state return which should have come with my turbotax deluxe and the download again will not work so I have not state return available even though I paid for it TWICE!!!!
What's great about it: Not much

This is the easiest and fastest way to file. But...
It makes you pay twice. It asks you to pay from two different pages! Endless loop. you can't get out and proceed without paying twice!
What's great about it: Goes through and covers everything
What's not so great: Too much info, overwhelming, confusing loops sometimes
