What happened this year

Throughout this return, I felt as if we were strangers. Nothing was downloaded from my 2012 return. My itemized deductions seemed about normal yet the program chose a standard deduction. Last year I owed an additional tax of $35. This year it is $1800. It was a very different experience this year.
What's great about it: none
What's not so great: Nothing felt right while doing this return.

Great as usual!

This is the most comfortable complete way to do your taxes. No people across from you asking questions that you always feel probing, this is so easy. I've been using TurboTax for years and doubt I'll ever change!

No ability to source income by state. You have to manually enter the income amounts attributable to the non-resident states.
I won't use this software again.
What's great about it: Okay for basic stuff
What's not so great: Terrible for multi-state or complex tax issues

Used it for the whole family and really helped my parents. Has given me ideas on tracking expenses for the coming year too

Turbo Tax has been a great tool for my wife and I to use over the past several years. It saves us the cost of going to a tax preparer. We look forward to doing our own taxes each year, all because we know that Turbo Tax will guide us through the process.
What's great about it: I liked the tutorials that walked me through every step of the filing process.

Turbo or Bust

Very easy to use program. I have been using it for almost 10 years. Never have to pay someone hundreds of dollars to do my taxes any more.
What's great about it: Very user friendly
What's not so great: Had to pay to efile state taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I found the format confusing this year. The absence of sales tax calculations until 2 days before filing deadline to be unacceptable. I kept checking for updates and it wasn't until 4/13/14 that the calculation became available. It definitely changed the amount of money I owed the IRS.
What's great about it: Have used turbo tax deluxe for many years and have had no problems until this year

I USED to use TurboTax

Fail #1: Failed to explain what many terms/forms meant.
Fail #2: Failed to allow me to return to initial fill-in and completely delete an entry once made
Fail #3: Failed to transmit due to need for additional updates (which I had already updated). Updated AGAIN, and continued to post the same message. I have to mail them in! Disgusted.
