I LOVED THE PROGRAM, BUT I COULDN'T REMEMBER MY FIRST PET'S NAME SO I GOT LOCKED OUT. WHY NOT JUST SET IT UP SO I CAN JUST PAY WITHOUT SUCH AS HASSLE. I WAS IN A TERRIFIC MOOD WHEN I FINISHED THE TAX INFORMATION, THEN YOU GAVE ME ALL KINDS OF GRIEF JUST TRYING TO PAY YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's not so great: HAVING TO FIND A PASSWORD I ONLY USE ONCE A YEAR TO PAY MY BILL.

Self prepared taxes

Using TurboTax since 2000. As always, TurboTax worked great for walking me through tax preparation. Explanations good if not always understandable on first reading. Not software fault, government definitions of what is and is not meant seems to change each year, especially Retirement and Health accounts. Tax laws not finalized before filling period opened making one question entries made before the law changed. TurboTax seemed to handle changes well. I would recommend TurboTax to anyone wanting to do their own taxes.
What's great about it: TurboTax made it much easier
What's not so great: Government making tax law more and more complicated

No matter what problem comes up, or what questions you may have,there is a solution for it right away. No need to stress over doing taxes.

Why Didn't I Try This Sooner?

I had my taxes done at a tax service last year. TurboTax gave me the confidence I needed, and saved me hours on forms and learning the code. It found all the deductions I had with the service. I wish I would have tried this sooner.
I like being able to see the sections of the return.
What's great about it: Saved me time and money
What's not so great: Wanted to itemize charitable volunteer monies spent - no lines to do so.

We continue to feel very comfortable with the process of using Turbo Tax to address our needs for ourselves. The technical support and utilization of embedded tools and guidelines help to make the process a confident one.
What's great about it: Details of walk-through continue to get more user-friendly
What's not so great: Updates were a hangup when concluding the process

Better than ever... but missing OS support

I have been using Turbo Tax since the early 1990's (since it was running on DOS). Each year it keeps getting better and easier to use. The only thing I have a REAL PROBLEM with is that it only runs on MS Windows. Because of that I have to keep Windows installed on one of my systems and every year I have to update it before I can install and use Turbo Tax. All my systems run Linux and I only bring up Windows once a year just for Turbo Tax. This is a real pain. I've tried to run under Wine on Linux but Turbo Tax just doesn't seem to use the functions provided there. I have MS Office running on Wine so I can handle the stray document that fails to work on LibreOffice. If Turbo Tax would run under Wine I would dump Windows in a heartbeat.
What's great about it: Flexable and VERY easy to use.
What's not so great: Support for only MS Windows and Mac - no Linux or BSD
