Amazingly simple and easy!

I love TurboTax! I have used this program for 5 years. I am not an accountant and do not enjoy crunching numbers. However, TurboTax makes doing taxes ....almost.... fun... dare I say that? So very easy as long as you have held on to your information throughout the year.
What's great about it: Easy to use, all you have to do is answer questions
What's not so great: no cons - very simple

Knocked the Socks Off the Return

I was able to complete my return in about 75 minutes
What's great about it: Efficient and Effective
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I like how it walks you through everything. I recommended it to my neighbor. He bought it online and did his own taxes. He was disappointed that he had always been paying someone else to do what he could have done himself. Thanks for making it easy for us.

Wonderful Experience

Really appreciate the ease of use w/ Turbo Tax. This is my 1st time using this product.
My only question (concern) is the cost for State Tax Filing...just wondered?!

when you review your information where it shows the amounts and also a button to edit/update, i didn't like that if I click on the amount it opens a box with the same amount but no details therefore you have to click on the edit/update to really see if you need to make changes.

Even the crazy complex U.S. tax code seems simple

I've used Turbo Tax for the last 6+ years or so, ever since I've had enough deductions to itemize, and it's wonderful. It takes time where it's appropriate, and let's you speed through tedious tasks--for instance, by importing information from a previous year's return, or from a bank, or W-2 information from a payroll processor. There are links to quick summaries of various topics as you get to them, which I find very helpful even when I think I understand them. There were only two minor complaints I had this year: the first was that I was interrupted in the middle of doing my taxes several times and in all but one times, Turbo Tax picked up right where I left off. Mysteriously, on one occasion, there didn't seem to be any information, or questions, or even options I could click on... I could open my previous file, but nothing changed...it already thought it was open. Eventually, on the menu I saw an option for "check for updates" thinking that it might trigger a return to the usual walk-through and it did. The other issue was that I had some specific questions about how to handle money that was inherited from overseas and it was very difficult to find answers to these questions. Ultimately, a piece of software is never going to substitute for a true accountant or tax attorney. But I did feel somewhat assured that, by answering every question that was asked, however our tax return came out was the "correct" way it should have. All in all, a life saver at tax time.
What's great about it: simple but powerful, flexible but easy to use if you're not sure what you're doing, helpful summaries
What's not so great: sometimes hard to find out exact answers to specific questions
