Big Return

Turbo Tax did a great job of finding deductions I was missing. I was able to make a huge difference in my return thanks to Turbo Tax! It was fast, easy and thorough, A definite must-buy for anyone that does their own taxes or wants to.
What's great about it: Easy, fast, simple, accurate, thorough
What's not so great: None, really.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax 2013 Review

Additional detailed explanation will be helpful e.g. Alternative Minimum Tax, Homestead credit, etc. Everyone is not familiar with such terms, and more details will help. Rest is all good.
What's great about it: Very User friendly and walks you through all steps if you are not sure.
What's not so great: Some information should be in more detail and explained in common man's language not a finance/tax man's language.

Pooched on State Taxes

I had state returns in Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. I elected to use the "free return" that was in the package for the Arizona taxes since they were the most difficult and I knew how to do Utah and Colorado on their respective tax websites.
TurboTax refused to let me put the correct values into the Arizona return - it did not recognize the correct values and showed that I owed $4 total (no Arizona withholding or state taxes paid) for five months of work.
I ended up filling out all three states on their respective tax web sites. After claiming over $7,000 in moving cost, I still correctly owed $600 to Arizona - a long ways from $4.

TurboTax is extremely easy to use and turns the tax code into readable format. It is costly though for smaller returns.

Taxes Done to the Max

We have been using Turbo Tax for about 15 years and have never had any problems. This software takes the time to walk you through every deduction and form there is, without taking up to much of your time. It covers the basics in depth and has a "help" function for questions that are anywhere from normal to special situations. I cannot say enough great and wonderful things about Turbo Tax. Thank you for many years of great service and many more to come!
What's great about it: Personal itemization walk through for maximum refund.
What's not so great: I wish there was a way to get it faster than 2 weeks...still quick though!
