Great but . . .

I have used Turbo-tax to complete my taxes for at least 5 years now. I have always had a wonderful experience. This time everything was great until I was ready to e-file. I kept getting the message that I could not e-file and that I needed to download updates. I went through this 6 times until finally I chose the option to file by mail. This was a great inconvenience since due to medical issues I was later than usual filing my taxes. I am greatly disappointed.
What's great about it: Easy to complete
What's not so great: Couldn't E-file

Always a great experience!

As always, I used TT. I've used it since 2006 with great results. I love the It's Deductible attachment so that I can keep track of things throughout the year and it will be all there when I file. I also love how last years info will load into the current years copy. And of course that Quicken ties into it! It makes it so much easier. This year I had one concern however. When I was ready to exile, and the review had come back fine, I ran it again and it told me I had to mail the return. I had a different type of W2 that couldn't go through. It would have been better if I had know that early on, so I could have adjusted my timing schedule. I did make it work so now I'm crossing my fingers that mailing it in won't make a difference in any way. Thank you!
What's great about it: Instructions and links for help
What's not so great: free efile that I couldn't use because TT said I had to mail.

Quick and relatively painless

The program guides you through all the sections to make sure you've got everything covered. My returns are fairly simple with only a few odd things that crop up now and then, but TurboTax makes it simple. I've been using TurboTax for about ten years now so transferring last year's information is just a click.
What's great about it: Guided through all the tough stuff.
What's not so great: Updates can take some time.

TurboTax makes doing taxes easy.

I cannot understand why anyone other than someone with an extremely complicated tax filing situation would pay someone else to do their taxes for them. TurboTax makes it so easy. I have been using TurboTax for many years. I love that it remembers and automatically fills out a lot of the information given in previous years that doesn't change into the present year's forms.
What's great about it: Easy, nice conversational narrative as the software steps you through the process
What's not so great: I wish state efiling was free
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

At last step kept sending me back for up-dates which apparently were screwed up--result had to snail-mail my return

Turbo Tax exceeds my expectations year after year. Effortlessly imports my previous years deductions and current year wage information. Easy to navigate the application to find specific areas of review.
What's great about it: Easy to use year after year...
What's not so great: None

Awesome Return

I've had my taxes done by a CPA for the past several years. For the last 3 years in a row, Ive been audited and ended up paying money back to the govt.
Turbo tax was faster, cheaper, showed me what my audit risk was, and got me a much larger return. Can't say enough..Thanks and thanks again.
