Turbo Tax Works, what more can be said

Turbo tax makes it confusing if you know which schedule you want to work on; they classify things a little differently so you are not sure how your stuff got into which schedule. However, all in all it makes taxes easy.
What's great about it: They cover everything
What's not so great: It is difficult to override some of the stuff they do wrong. Hard to figure out sched. D etc.

Easy to use Turbo Tax

Overall speaking, Turbo Tax is better than any other products available in the market. It's nice to have FREE e-file for Federal return. I just don't understand why California State will not accept FREE e-file like NY State. Maybe, Turbo Tax should try to convince California State that FREE e-file for CA residents would save them more money since CA does not need to hire more people to process those thick tax papers.
What's great about it: Easy, Simple, Friendly, FREE e-File for Federal
What's not so great: Could not see the actural forms while in the process

Overall a great product. Easy to use and the program does detail things reasonable decent. It makes dealing with taxes as pain free as possible.
What's great about it: Good details on what you can and can not qualify for.
What's not so great: I still had to pay more taxes but I think I got everything deducted that I qualified for.

What's great about it: used for years
What's not so great: Did not find a phone number for help

2013 Return
on April 13, 2014
Posted by: Providence2013
The ease of use was excellent, however I was not expecting the length of time it would take to complete the return. Also, it was unexpected that the cost of the program did not include the state e-file.
What's great about it: ease of use
What's not so great: length of time to complete, expense of e-file for state return

not user friendly

Most things good (and fast) but could be a lot better. Starting at beginning. Screen does not highlight the need to transfer last year's file. You should have a clear warning. I had to add/create 1099 Div info even though I had them last year and they were on the confirmation page. 3-4 did not transfer and I could never find that page again to see why. The process for deducting interest on US obligations on state return is not clear. I had to go back to 1099 Div forms. Many were auto-loaded from brokers. Once on form- it is clear but state form should remind user to go back and check the 1099's for that item. Business income not from 1099-misc is strange- note that the $ do not appear on income summary page !! ? I had to look at Form C to verify it was done right. Answers to certain questions are not saved. This is discovered when I went back to check things and repeated the step by step. There were a few other items along the way where you miss the opportunity to be user friendly with reminders/warnings or hints. I am a CPA and I still find this frustrating.
What's great about it: ensures all forms and calcs correct
What's not so great: not explanatory
