Very helpful

For the Federal tax return, Turbo Tax is very helpful, lots of helpful definitions. We have used Turbo Tax and also a popular tax service in past years. For the money, Turbo Tax beats the tax service we used hands down. I will never use another tax service.
For the state taxes, Turbo Tax used to be not very helpful at all but it has improved a good bit.
The one thing that would have been helpful, that we did not see coming, would have been to let us know last year that we would be minus a child credit this year (because he turned 17). If we had known we would have changed our withholdings. I don't know when that age changed, so I don't know if that would have been possible.

Taxes aren't fun but Turbo Tax makes them doable.

Year after year, I continue to have problems with LP's. Understand that they are complex. But, too complex for TurboTax?
Excepting the Limited Partnerships, I am happy with TT. But, But..
I keep wondering if I should dump the LPs or TT?

What's not so great: Schedule K-1 needs work. Specifically, Brookfield Infrastructure Partners, Box 16. Needs work. Should I just sell BIP

Painful process made "easy."

Been using Turbo Tax for "years." Each year the software is more user friendly. Asks all the right questions. Makes all the computations plus loading the previous year's "boilerplate" data, cutting down on the entry process.
What's great about it: Clear, step by step walk through the filing process.
What's not so great: NA

Problems transmitting return

The process of creating the tax return was very straightforward and worked as advertised. Very happy until the very last step of trying to transmit the return via efile. Turbotax kept telling me that there was a problem transmitting the return as I needed to install an update. I went through this process several times with turbotax continuing to insist on installing the same update over and over again. After multiple reboots & several days it finally worked. Not happy.
What's great about it: Simple & easy to create return
